SriLankan Airlines is back in full force across the Middle East, with Kuwait flights completing the carrier’s regional network restoration. The airline resumed six weekly services to Kuwait on 8 August 2026, strengthening connections between the Gulf, Colombo and South India. The move comes after months of operational challenges across the region.

Air France, Lufthansa and other global airlines are set to intensify their efforts to restore stability to the Middle East as the region’s security situation deteriorates, with a number of the area’s key air hubs – including Dubai, Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and Lebanon’s Beirut – already taking steps to cancel a number of popular routes.
