Thai Airways is set to launch new flights from Bangkok to Colombo, Kochi and Perth

Thai Airways has announced its expansion plans by introducing new flight services connecting Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok with Perth in Australia, Colombo in Sri Lanka, and Kochi in India. These strategic moves aim to bolster the airline’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region and offer more travel options to its passengers.

Expansion of Australian Network

Beginning 31 March 2024, Thai Airways will commence daily flights to Perth, marking a significant addition to its Australian destinations, which already include Melbourne and Sydney. The Bangkok-Perth route is set to enhance connectivity between Thailand and Australia, catering to the growing demand for travel between these locations.

Enhanced Connectivity to Colombo and Kochi

In addition to the Perth flights, Thai Airways is set to launch daily flights to Colombo and thrice-weekly flights to Kochi starting from 31 March and 2 April 2024, respectively. These new routes are expected to facilitate better cultural and economic exchanges between Thailand and its South Asian neighbors, Sri Lanka and India.

Flight Details and Schedules

Bangkok-Perth Route: Utilizing the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, Thai Airways will offer daily flights packed with comfort and luxury. The aircraft features 22 Royal Silk Class seats in a 2-2-2 layout and 234 Economy Class seats arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration. The schedule includes flights departing Bangkok in the early morning and late night, ensuring convenience for travelers.

Bangkok-Colombo Route: The daily flights to Colombo will be serviced by the Airbus A320-200, offering 12 Economy Plus and 156 Economy Class seats. This route emphasizes comfort, with a seating arrangement that provides extra space for passengers.

Bangkok-Kochi Route: The Airbus A320-200, with 174 Economy Class seats, will be used for the thrice-weekly flights to Kochi. This route aims to connect more closely with the Indian market, making Kochi the ninth Indian city in Thai Airways’ network.

Thai Airways’ introduction of these new routes is a strategic effort to enhance its network and provide passengers with more travel options to and from Asia-Pacific destinations. By expanding its service to include Perth, Colombo, and Kochi, Thai Airways is set to offer improved connectivity and convenience for travelers seeking to explore these vibrant cities.
