When looking for a relaxed, sophisticated retreat away from the kids, Palladium Hotel Group has two five-star properties that put forward a great pitch.TRS Yucatan Hotel and TRS Coral Hotel are both on the luxury end of the market, where couples and friends can immerse themselves in a world of high-class amenities and gourmet dining. To top it off, the premium location means it has a safe beachfront setting in the best of Mexico – all without the distractions of family resorts.

Location and setting: Two distinct Caribbean destinations

TRS Yucatan Hotel is right in the heart of the Riviera Maya and is situated around 90 kilometers from the airport (which is near Playa del Carmen). It’s a highly regarded property in and of itself, be it sat by a protected tropical forest. The architectural decisions alone create an intimate sanctuary that uses its surrounding nature to its advantage. The hotel, of course, has an infinity pool, all with the view over the Caribbean Sea, creating that classic observation deck that allows guests to see, but to feel removed. There are over 800 meters of beach access, so it’s ideal for beach bums and water sports go-getters.

TRS Coral Hotel is a different vibe with a prime location in Costa Mujeres (a closer trip at just 29 kilometers from Cancun’s airport). This newer property, which was built only in 2018, is hyper-modern. It has a lot of the sleek lines and the backdrop of the sea. The area that it’s in (Costa Mujeres) is a lot quieter than Cancun, for example, making it arguably a better beach access, of which it also has direct beach access.

Room categories and exclusive accommodations

Both of the adults-only hotels in Mexico have a wide selection of room categories, making it ideal for a broad range of guests with varying budgets and expectations. The more than 400 rooms in the TRS Yucatan Hotel go from Junior Suites (still with garden or poolside views) to even more extraordinary Ambassador Suites – unadulterated panoramic ocean views. The property does a great job of including unique options like Romance Bungalows by the lake – these are perfect for a honeymoon because they can have private pools. As for other private features, you may come across jacuzzis on terraces, hydromassage baths… Some even with separate living rooms up to 120sqm.

TRS Coral Hotel has a similar more than 450 elegant rooms, and again ranges from Junior Suites with garden views to the Signature Suites. Some particularly unique spaces are the swim-up suites (access pools directly from the terraces) and while Loft Suites, which have two-floor layouts with jacuzzis and separate living areas. Room sizes can be larger than in the TRS Yucatan Hotel.

Butler service and personalized attention

A proud signature of both TRS properties is the butler service. And yes, it’s included for all guests. The eButler service, as it’s called, even starts before you arrive. It helps guests manage restaurant reservations, arrange special requests, plan their stay, and throughout the visit, they can receive personalized attention like unpacking luggage to coordinating activities.

Culinary excellence

The Infinite Indulgence program, which both properties have, has some great options. Many, in fact. Both hotels offer three on-property à la carte restaurants.

El Gaucho (Argentine cuisine)
Tentazione (Italian specialties)
La Bohème (French gastronomy)
A show cooking restaurant Capricho
Beachfront Helios Beach Club
Access to over 30 restaurants in the “dine around” program.
Activities for adults
We often think of entertainment being associated with family hotels, but TRS disagrees. Daily programming exists, but it’s more centered around yoga, aqua gym sessions, and other fitness activities. Cooking classes, mixology workshops, wine tastings, tequila samplings, and other cultural learning exercises are very memorable experiences for guests.

TRS Yucatan Hotel has a focus on access to a private natural cenote, bowling, and sports like tennis and paddle courts. The property is integrated with the Grand Palladium complex, so that really scales up what’s on offer.

TRS Coral Hotel also has tennis at the well-known Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre – and one complimentary hour per day is included. The property has five swimming pools and impeccable sports facilities, but also evening entertainment like theater and live music.

Zentropia Palladium Spa & Wellness

With either hotel, you can access Zentropia Palladium Spa & Wellness. It’s a first-class facility with well over 6,000 square meters of wellness. Hydrotherapy circuits with hot and cold jacuzzis, saunas, Turkish baths, sensations showers, relaxation areas, and beauty treatments are available. These are perfect to wind down after a game of paddle.

It can be difficult to choose between the two hotels. Nature lovers may opt for TRS Yucatan Hotel, while those who love contemporary and modern elegance may opt for TRS Coral Hotel. In either case, the promise is the same: an adults-only experience, as if you were a celebrity, will capture the beauty of Mexico for you.
