In a significant development, the Governor of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, officially commenced air travel from Dehradun to three key destinations: Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Amritsar.

These flight services took off from the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun on a Wednesday, marking a new chapter in regional connectivity.

Governor Dhami highlighted the expansion of air connectivity, noting previous initiatives that established routes from Dehradun to Pithoragarh, along with helicopter services connecting Haldwani with Champawat, Munsiyari, and Pithoragarh.

He extended his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Federal Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia, for their support in enhancing the state’s air transport network.

Dhami praised Prime Minister Modi for spearheading a period of unparalleled growth across various sectors, notably in aviation.

During the launch, he engaged with passengers en route to Ayodhya, blessing their journey with the chant “Jai Shri Ram.”

Dehradun’s airport, known for servicing domestic flights, plays a crucial role in the region’s connectivity. Ayodhya, on the other hand, recently celebrated the inauguration of its first airport, named after the sage Maharishi Valmiki, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the last December 30, adding a significant milestone to India’s aviation landscape.
