Noida’s New Six-Lane Hindon River Bridge Nears Opening To Transform Travel Between Noida And Greater Noida

The launch of the faster Hindon Bridge link between Greater Noida and Noida is almost here. As of now, travel time between the two cities is roughly the same. The balance is about to completely shift in favor of the faster link. Noida and Greater Noida are finally going to be connected directly with a dedicated to the faster link with a straight shot route between the Noida Sector 146 Metro station on the Aqua Line and Knowledge Park 3 in Greater Noida, the route between the two cities is expected to reduce commute times significantly. The project will also create a faster, direct link between the Akshardham Temple and the Connaught Place Metro Stations on the Delhi Metro Blue Line, F rated link.

The 290-metre-long bridge, supported by nearly one kilometre of approach roads, is now in the final phase of construction. Once opened, the infrastructure project is expected to improve daily travel for thousands of residents, office workers, students and commercial vehicle operators who regularly move between the two rapidly developing cities.

The project is also expected to strengthen last-mile connectivity with the Aqua Line Metro and support growing residential and business hubs along the Noida Expressway corridor.

New Hindon Bridge Set To Create Faster Route Between Noida And Greater Noida

For years, commuters travelling between Noida and Greater Noida have faced major delays due to heavy traffic pressure on key routes. Existing alternatives, including the Noida Expressway, Pari Chowk route and Surajpur-Kulesra Road, often experience congestion during peak office hours, creating long travel times for daily passengers.

The new Hindon River bridge will introduce a direct connection between Sector 146 in Noida and important locations in Greater Noida, including Knowledge Park 3, Gamma 1, Beta 1, Surajpur and nearby commercial areas.

The direct corridor is expected to provide a much-needed alternative route for people living in sectors located near the Noida Expressway. It will also make travel easier for students, employees and businesses operating in Greater Noida’s educational, industrial and commercial zones.

With the region witnessing rapid urban expansion, improved road infrastructure has become increasingly important. The bridge is expected to play a key role in managing future traffic growth between the two cities.

Six-Lane Infrastructure Project Expected To Cut Daily Travel Time Significantly

One of the biggest advantages of the new bridge will be a major reduction in commuting time. Currently, many travellers spend between 45 minutes and one hour travelling between parts of Noida and Greater Noida due to traffic congestion on existing routes.

The new connection is expected to reduce several journeys by almost half by offering a shorter and smoother route. Commuters who previously depended on longer routes through crowded intersections and busy roads are already experiencing improved travel times through sections of the newly developed corridor.

Trips that earlier required extensive detours around Noida Phase II, Surajpur and Kulesra areas are expected to become faster after the bridge opens completely.

For residents travelling between Noida’s residential sectors and Greater Noida’s educational institutions, offices and industrial areas, the new bridge could become a daily time-saving route.

The reduction in travel time may also benefit logistics operators and commercial vehicles by improving movement between important economic zones.

Construction Nears Completion With Final Works Underway

The main structure of the Hindon River bridge is almost complete, while significant progress has also been made on the approach roads.

The Noida side has already completed around 810 metres of approach road construction. The remaining work mainly involves final finishing activities required before opening the bridge for public movement.

The pending tasks include road markings, street lighting installation, landscaping, surface improvements, painting work, strengthening of road shoulders and completion of tiling activities.

However, some work remains unfinished on the Greater Noida side. Around 150 metres of approach road construction is still pending, along with necessary adjustments related to utility infrastructure.

A high-tension electricity line also needs to be shifted before the entire corridor can become fully operational.

Authorities are working to complete these remaining tasks before the planned opening timeline, which is expected ahead of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show.

Land Disputes Caused Years Of Delay In Bridge Construction

Although the bridge project was introduced several years ago, its completion faced repeated delays due to challenges related to land acquisition.

The project was originally planned for completion within a much shorter construction period, but unresolved land issues slowed progress for several years. Construction activities eventually restarted after these disputes were addressed, allowing the project to move forward again.

The prolonged construction period left many commuters disappointed as they continued waiting for a faster and more convenient route linking Noida and Greater Noida. However, the renewed construction pace has brought the project closer to becoming operational.

The removal of construction material and restoration of smooth access will be necessary to ensure that commuters can use the new route without facing additional obstacles.

Officials are expected to coordinate with concerned parties to clear the service lane and prepare the complete approach route before the bridge becomes available to the public.
