US, UK and Canada Travellers Turn to Saint Lucia as Jazz & Arts Festival 2027 Fuels Caribbean Tourism because the event combines live performances, Pigeon Island, beaches, food and island experiences. Moreover, strong visitor markets and previous festival attendance show clear tourism potential. As travellers spend on hotels, restaurants, taxis, tours and local businesses, the festival can spread tourism value beyond the stage and strengthen Saint Lucia’s wider visitor economy.
Official figures show the event’s scale. The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority reported that the 2025 festival drew 33,000 attendees, while the Government of Saint Lucia said overall 2026 attendance remained comparable with 2025. Opening Night attendance rose 19%, Pure Jazz increased 20% and World Beats grew 12%.

The effect extends beyond tickets. In a 2023 government statement, the Tourism Authority said average daily visitor spending in May had exceeded EC$800 per person over five consecutive years, excluding festival tickets. It called the festival an “important economic driver for our island.”Official indicator Data Official context 2027 festival Apr 30–May 9 Confirmed travel window 2025 attendance 33,000 Festival attendees 2026 attendance Comparable with 2025 Overall attendance remained strong May 2024 stay-over arrivals 36,375, +9% Government linked growth partly to the festival 2023 festival visitors More than 8,000 Festival-specific visitors May daily visitor spend Above EC$800 Excluded festival tickets

Saint Lucia’s source-market data show why the festival has international tourism potential. The Tourism Authority reported more than 160,000 US stay-over visitors from January to July 2025, while the UK remained the second-largest source market with 40,923 visitors by July.
April 2026 brought a record 40,752 stay-over arrivals. Caribbean arrivals increased 39.6%, Canada rose 45.9%, and the US added 900 visitors, while the UK declined by about 930. These are destination-wide figures, not festival attendance data.
Regional travel is also important. The government said the 2023 festival received major support from the French West Indies, while Saint Lucia’s Economic and Social Review recorded 16,975 French West Indies arrivals in 2023, up 74% from 2022.
Pigeon Island National Landmark combines history with the Caribbean coast. The Tourism Authority describes it as a former strategic military base with historic ruins, trails, beaches and views across Rodney Bay.
