Club Med unveils a major family resort transformation, adding new rooms, experiences, sports and dining as the island destination prepares for a more immersive premium holiday. Club Med is unveiling a major resort transformation that could reshape family holidays on the island. The Club Med Bintan upgrade introduces redesigned rooms, new family spaces, a Splash Pad, refreshed dining venues and more activities. Meanwhile, the resort is bringing its first Amazing Family! Hub in Asia to Bintan, creating a dedicated setting for families to play, explore and connect. New Padel and Pickleball courts add to the sports offering. Furthermore, sustainability remains central to the redevelopment. With more improvements planned through 2027, Club Med Bintan is positioning itself as a stronger premium all-inclusive destination for multigenerational travellers.

Club Med Bintan is undergoing a substantial transformation aimed at making family holidays more engaging, comfortable and convenient, with a series of new facilities and redesigned spaces scheduled to reshape the resort experience through the end of 2026 and into 2027.

The South China Sea resort is refreshing its accommodation, recreation, dining and family facilities while maintaining Club Med’s premium all-inclusive positioning. The redevelopment draws heavily on Bintan’s natural setting and Indonesian design influences, creating spaces intended to feel connected to the surrounding island landscape.

Redesigned Rooms Bring Bintan Indoors

The resort’s Superior, Deluxe and Suite categories are being redesigned in phases. A notable addition is the introduction of new Deluxe Themed Rooms.

The interiors use natural materials, Indonesian textures and colours inspired by the island environment. The design approach combines a relaxed tropical character with contemporary comfort, giving families more distinctive accommodation options while reinforcing a sense of place.

New Family Hub Targets All Generations

One of the most significant additions is Club Med’s first Amazing Family! Hub in Asia.

The 300-square-metre facility has been designed around shared family experiences. It will include an indoor playground, activity areas, interactive games and lounge spaces intended for different age groups.

The concept reflects a broader shift in family travel towards experiences that allow parents and children to participate together rather than separating activities entirely by age.

Club Med Bintan is also introducing an Epic Explorer Trail. Families receive an Explorer’s Passport and follow clues around the resort, discovering hidden sculptures and completing challenges before returning for stamps and a daily surprise.

Splash Pad and Dining Upgrades Add More Variety

Younger guests can enjoy a new Splash Pad in the resort’s main centre, adding another dedicated water-play attraction.

Food and beverage facilities are also receiving attention. The Panorama Barista Bar has been revitalised, offering views towards the South China Sea, while the Terrace Gourmet Club combines local flavours with French-inspired cuisine in a beachfront setting.

A further culinary milestone is planned by 2027 with the arrival of The Grill Gourmet Club. The new venue is expected to provide a more sophisticated communal dining environment and expand the resort’s premium all-inclusive proposition.

More Than 20 Sports and Activities

Club Med Bintan continues to position itself around active holidays, with more than 20 sports and activities available to guests.

The existing Flying Trapeze and archery experiences remain part of the offering, while new Padel and Pickleball courts respond to the growing popularity of these sports.

Water sports and other activities further broaden the programme, giving families and active travellers opportunities to learn new skills, compete together or simply enjoy recreational time during their stay.

A collaboration with French designer Mathilde Cabanas also brings limited-edition resort wear and collectibles to Club Med Bintan, Club Med Kani and Club Med Phuket. Families can additionally create their own travel journals at the Amazing Family! corner.

Kids Club and Sustainability Remain Priorities

The transformation will continue beyond 2026. A refreshed Kids Club is scheduled as another major milestone by 2027, with immersive play environments designed around curiosity, creativity and discovery.

Sustainability is also integrated into the renovation philosophy. Club Med Bintan is a Green Globe Certified Resort and continues initiatives including the elimination of single-use plastics, turtle conservation and food-waste reduction.

The design programme similarly emphasises natural materials and a connection with the island ecosystem.

A Broader Premium All-Inclusive Strategy

Club Med Bintan’s transformation reflects the changing expectations of modern family travellers. Families increasingly seek holidays where accommodation, dining, recreation and children’s activities can be accessed within one destination without extensive planning.

By combining redesigned rooms, shared family spaces, new sports, upgraded dining and sustainability initiatives, the resort is building a more comprehensive experience around that demand.

With further developments planned through 2027, Club Med Bintan is moving beyond a conventional beach-resort refresh. Its strategy is to create an environment where multigenerational families can spend more time together while still having access to activities tailored to different interests and ages.

The reason behind Club Med Bintan’s transformation is clear: family travellers increasingly want convenience, variety and meaningful experiences in one destination. The answer is a broader premium all-inclusive proposition combining redesigned rooms, dedicated family spaces, upgraded dining and expanded activities. New facilities such as the Amazing Family! Hub and Splash Pad directly address the needs of families travelling with children, while Padel, Pickleball and water sports broaden the appeal for active guests. At the same time, sustainability remains part of the resort’s development strategy. Together, these changes allow Club Med Bintan to strengthen its position as a multigenerational island holiday destination.

Club Med Bintan is entering a new phase as the resort upgrades its accommodation, family facilities, dining venues and recreational offering. The transformation is particularly focused on multigenerational travel, with the new Amazing Family! Hub providing a dedicated 300-square-metre space for shared play, creativity and discovery.

The addition of a Splash Pad, new Padel and Pickleball courts, redesigned rooms and refreshed culinary venues gives guests more reasons to remain engaged throughout their stay. Meanwhile, the Epic Explorer Trail and Mathilde Cabanas collaboration add distinctive experiences beyond traditional resort activities.

The programme does not end in 2026. A refreshed Kids Club and The Grill Gourmet Club are planned for completion by 2027. Sustainability also remains embedded through initiatives covering plastics, turtle conservation and food waste. Overall, Club Med Bintan is reshaping its premium all-inclusive offer around family connection, active holidays, local character and more seamless island escapes.
