Emirates has launched a dedicated engineering recruitment campaign in India as part of its global talent acquisition strategy, inviting experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineers to explore career opportunities with the airline’s engineering division in Dubai.

He noted that the airline aims to provide Indian Licensed Aircraft Engineers with opportunities to work on the world’s largest fleet of wide-body aircraft while gaining exposure to advanced aviation technologies and international engineering practices.

According to Sarhan, engineers joining Emirates will also collaborate with professionals from multiple nationalities, helping them strengthen their technical expertise while contributing to the future development of global aviation.

Engineers Will Work on Modern Airbus and Boeing Fleets

Licensed Aircraft Engineers recruited through the programme will be based at Emirates’ Dubai hub.

Their responsibilities will include routine aircraft servicing, scheduled maintenance, inspections, heavy maintenance programmes and overhaul activities across Emirates’ fleet.

The engineering teams support several aircraft types, including the airline’s newest Airbus A350 aircraft, alongside the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 fleets.

Depending on operational requirements, engineers may also participate in maintenance work for aircraft belonging to other international airlines through Emirates’ third-party engineering services.

The role offers exposure to advanced maintenance procedures, sophisticated aircraft systems and one of the aviation industry’s largest engineering operations.

Emirates Building One of the World’s Largest Engineering Facilities

Alongside its recruitment efforts, Emirates continues investing heavily in engineering infrastructure.

The airline is currently developing a massive engineering complex at Dubai South, which is expected to become one of the largest aviation maintenance facilities in the world.

Spanning approximately 1.1 million square metres, the new complex will rank among the world’s largest buildings by volume while also becoming the largest steel structure within the Gulf Cooperation Council region.

One of the facility’s defining features will be its ability to simultaneously accommodate 28 wide-body aircraft for maintenance, alongside two dedicated aircraft paint hangars.

The project is intended to significantly increase Emirates’ maintenance capacity as the airline continues expanding its global operations.

New Facility Designed for Future Fleet Growth

The engineering complex will include several specialised facilities designed to support increasingly complex aircraft maintenance requirements.

Among its planned highlights are:

• The world’s largest free-span aircraft hangar with a width of 285 metres.
• The world’s largest dedicated landing gear workshop.
• Approximately 77,000 square metres of specialised workshop space for aircraft repairs and component maintenance.
• Around 380,000 square metres dedicated to storage and logistics operations.
• Two advanced aircraft paint hangars capable of servicing Emirates’ wide-body fleet while also accommodating narrow-body aircraft when required.

Construction of the complex is expected to be completed by mid-2030.

Once operational, the facility will initially handle heavy maintenance work and support overflow engineering projects currently undertaken at the Emirates Engineering Centre located at Dubai International Airport.

Emirates Engineering Supports Global Airline Operations

Emirates Engineering has established itself as one of the aviation industry’s most technologically advanced maintenance organisations.

The division holds GCAA CAR V approval, allowing it to perform extensive maintenance, repair and overhaul activities on commercial aircraft.

Beyond supporting Emirates’ own Airbus and Boeing fleets, the engineering division also provides maintenance services for aircraft operated by around 30 other international airlines through third-party contracts.

Its operations include line maintenance, heavy maintenance, aircraft modification, component repair, engine support and engineering services that help ensure aircraft safety, reliability and operational efficiency.
