Air Canada updates its international network and routes for Summer 2027, announcing 5 new destinations, 7 new routes, and increasing frequencies. Air Canada anticipates growing its international services from its primary hubs at Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal. Air Canada has new growth opportunities for its international routes in Asia, Europe, and Latin America with this added growth and improved connectivity.
The airline will strengthen its Vancouver trans-Pacific hub with the launch of year-round flights to Guangzhou, China. From Toronto, Air Canada’s largest global hub, the carrier will introduce new services to Oslo in Norway, Shannon in Ireland and Nice in France. The airline will also bring back its London Heathrow Daytripper service, increase Shanghai operations to daily flights and extend its newly launched Guatemala City route, starting this December, into a year-round service.

From its Montréal trans-Atlantic hub, Air Canada will add new routes to Basel, Switzerland, and Dubrovnik, Croatia. The airline will also expand its Tenerife, Lima and Guatemala City services by making them available throughout the year.
The expansion forms part of Air Canada’s long-term growth strategy, which is expected to generate more than 1,500 additional direct jobs by 2028. The airline estimates the wider growth programme will contribute more than $7 billion annually to Canada’s GDP, strengthening connectivity, tourism and economic opportunities across the country.

For Summer 2027, Air Canada is set to operate more than 125 international routes, offering up to 169,000 weekly seats from Canada to over 85 destinations worldwide. The expanded network will connect travellers across the Atlantic, Pacific, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and South America. Compared with Summer 2026, the airline’s international capacity in these regions will grow by more than eight per cent in available seat miles.
