American Cruise Lines Announces New Starlink Wi-Fi on 2023 Fleet

American Cruise Lines has announced today, that new Starlink satellite internet has been added to their 2023 fleet of riverboats and small cruise ships. The new Starlink satellite service is a major upgrade, ensuring seamless connectivity and faster upload speeds nearly everywhere the company’s small ships are cruising throughout the country—from Glacier Bay Alaska to the sunny Florida Keys; from the Napa Valley wine country to the historic Hudson River; and from the Mighty Mississippi to the stunning Columbia and Snake Rivers.

Starlink is powered by a constellation of lower earth (LEO) satellites, that provides a stable connection to American’s continuously moving ships and riverboats. American beta-tested the Starlink service in 2022 and cruise guests who experienced the platform during the testing phase responded with rave reviews.

Consistent with American Cruise Lines’ all-inclusive value, the new high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi will be complimentary on all 2023 cruises.

This new year, American Cruise Lines remains committed to offering the newest small ships for domestic U.S. cruising and to ensuring the most modern amenities aboard every ship in the fleet. The company has continued to introduce new riverboats and small ships each year and will introduce 3 more new ships in 2023. American renovated and redecorated their entire paddlewheel fleet in 2022 and recently updated interiors aboard their existing small cruise ships. In 2023, American Cruise Lines has 17 small ships and riverboats exploring in 35 states, cruising both coasts and all the rivers in between.

American’s small ship itineraries offer an all-inclusive experience and feature over 400 exciting shore excursions across the country.
