The programme has been created for visitors who want to experience the beauty of Lake Chuzenji by bicycle while enjoying locally prepared takeaway food. Participants will be able to rent bicycles, collect their chosen picnic set and select scenic locations around the lake for their outdoor meal.

The experience includes bicycle rental, helmets and smartphone holders. Non-electric Visaria City 27.5 bicycles will be provided for guests to explore the surrounding area.

Cycling and Picnic Packages Offer Scenic Dining Options

Two different food packages have been introduced as part of the Lake Chuzenji picnic experience. The Bicycle Rental and Cake Set is priced at ¥4,000 and includes a choice between apple pie and cheesecake. A drink is also included, with visitors able to select their preferred beverage at Coffee House Yukon on the day of their visit.

The Bicycle Rental and Sandwich Set costs ¥5,000 and includes a sandwich along with French fries and onion rings. Drinks are not included in this option, although additional beverages can be purchased separately from Coffee House Yukon.

Food collection will take place at Chuzenji Kanaya Hotel’s Coffee House Yukon. Visitors will be required to complete reservations by 4pm on the day before arrival.

The organisers have stated that the picnic meal can be enjoyed at suitable outdoor locations, including the Lake Chuzenji Boathouse area and nearby benches overlooking the lake and mountains. However, takeaway food cannot be consumed inside the restaurant or on its attached terrace seating.

Travellers can board Tobu Railway’s SPACIA X limited express service from Asakusa Station to Tobu-Nikko Station. The rail journey takes approximately 110 minutes. From Tobu-Nikko Station, a scenic connecting bus service continues towards Chuzenji Onsen, requiring around 50 minutes.

This connection allows visitors staying in Tokyo to include Lake Chuzenji and Oku-Nikko within their travel plans without requiring complex transport arrangements.

The programme is available for participants aged between 13 and 70. A minimum height requirement of 155 centimetres applies, and visitors under 15 years old must be accompanied by a guardian.
