Thailand’s seven Airlines offer discounts for 500-baht flight to boost domestic travel and tourism growth. Thailand is about to launch a tourism promotion that provides discounts to domestic travel with participation from seven airlines. As of 15 October 2026, eligible Thai travelers will be able to enjoy a 500-baht discount at any airline in Thailand, including the possibility of a 1,000-baht discount on a return flight. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the initiative to encourage more frequent travel and reduce the burden on households’ annual travel budgets, as well as stimulate tourism throughout the country. Open for booking until 15 December and traveling until 15 January 2027, this campaign offers a travel opportunity for locals considering a holiday getaway or a quick trip for the break.

Seven Airlines Join a Nationwide Domestic Travel Campaign

The promotion forms part of TAT’s “Fly Everywhere in Thailand, Heal Your Heart on Every Trip” campaign, designed to stimulate domestic tourism and encourage travellers to explore more of the country. Seven carriers are participating: Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia, Thai Vietjet Air, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air and Ezy Airlines.

Each eligible domestic flight can receive a 500-baht discount. Travellers can therefore save up to 1,000 baht on a return journey when both bookings qualify.

The joint promotion aims to make flying more attractive as transport costs remain a concern. It also seeks to encourage trips beyond established tourism destinations.

How Travellers Can Claim the 500-Baht Discount

Bookings begin on 15 October 2026 and continue until 15 December 2026. Discounted flights must be taken by 15 January 2027. Eligible passengers should visit a participating airline’s official website or mobile application, select a qualifying domestic flight at its regular price and enter the promotional code FLYTODOM during booking.

No advance registration is needed. The discount is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and eligible passengers can claim it multiple times without a specified usage limit. However, availability remains subject to each airline’s allocation and conditions.

An important detail applies to return travel. Passengers who want the 500-baht reduction on both portions of their journey must book the outbound and inbound flights separately. Booking both flights together under one return ticket may prevent travellers from receiving the maximum discount.

Travellers should confirm participating routes and fare eligibility before paying. Airline terms and conditions apply, so availability may vary between services and dates.

Tourism Authorities Target 156 Million Baht in Revenue

Beyond lower airfares, the campaign is intended to strengthen local tourism economies. TAT projects that the airfare promotion will bring in at least 156 million baht in tourism revenue by encouraging domestic travellers to explore destinations across Thailand and support local businesses through increased spending.

Hotels could benefit from overnight stays, while restaurants, attractions, transport providers and other regional tourism businesses could gain from increased visitor spending.

The promotion sits within Thailand’s wider Domestic Stimulus programme. Its central objective is to encourage people to travel more often while easing the impact of transport expenses, including pressure associated with global oil prices.

The focus extends beyond increasing passenger numbers. By persuading residents to visit a broader range of destinations, the initiative aims to distribute tourism income more widely and support businesses outside the country’s principal visitor centres.

International Flight Growth Brings Fresh Competitive Pressure

Thailand’s domestic travel push comes against a mixed outlook for international aviation. Figures from Kasikorn Research Center (KResearch), as reported by The Nation, indicate that scheduled international flights to Thailand are expected to rise by 5.8% year on year during the fourth quarter of 2026.

That forecast exceeds the estimated global average increase of 2.5%. Nevertheless, Thailand’s projected growth trails that of regional competitors including Vietnam, Malaysia and China, underlining the challenge of maintaining a strong position in an increasingly competitive tourism market.

Flight capacity is also moving in different directions across source markets. Scheduled services from Europe are expected to increase by 28.6%, while those from China are set to grow by 21.6%. In contrast, flights from Russia, South Korea and India are declining.

Regional Destinations Become Central to the Tourism Strategy

International flight activity remains concentrated in Bangkok and Phuket, according to KResearch. That pattern means rising inbound capacity may deliver more immediate benefits to the country’s established tourism gateways than to smaller destinations elsewhere.

The domestic airfare campaign offers a complementary approach by encouraging Thai residents to travel within the country. More affordable flights could help visitors reach regional destinations and support the accommodation, dining, transport and attraction businesses that depend on tourism spending.

The campaign cannot remove Thailand’s inbound tourism challenges, but it provides a way to stimulate domestic demand as international flight trends remain uneven.

Thailand’s seven airlines have announced a five hundred baht discount for domestic flights in order to promote cheap travel, regional tourism, and attract one hundred fifty-six million baht in tourism revenue.

For tourists, the most important thing is to get the most out of this offer by finding the right route with one of the seven participating airlines and use FLYTODOM when booking and confirming the ticketing conditions. For Thailand’s tourism sector, the main goal is to expand and diversify the economy by capitalizing on discounted domestic flights.
