JetBlue has unveiled BlueFirst as its next domestic first-class service. BlueFirst aims to reshape JetBlue’s premium travel service across the USA. In autumn 2026, booking for BlueFirst will open. In this fiscal year, BlueFirst is expected to launch on select aircraft. This is part of JetBlue’s JetForward program wherein a greater emphasis is placed on the service of the premium passenger experience and a larger variety of premium services.

The new BlueFirst cabin will introduce dedicated first-class seating, advanced seatback entertainment, digital food and beverage ordering, upgraded onboard dining, personalised service features and additional airport privileges. The product has been developed to offer a more modern and comfortable alternative to traditional domestic first-class experiences while maintaining JetBlue’s focus on value and customer-focused service.

JetBlue BlueFirst Brings a New Premium Domestic Travel Experience

JetBlue’s latest premium product is designed to address growing demand among travellers seeking more comfort and personalised experiences on domestic flights. Unlike conventional first-class cabins that often follow a similar format across airlines, BlueFirst aims to introduce a more contemporary approach with technology-driven services and upgraded comfort features.

The airline confirmed that BlueFirst will initially operate on domestic routes where JetBlue’s existing premium Mint product is not available. The combination of Mint and BlueFirst will allow JetBlue to offer separate premium experiences across different markets, including domestic, transcontinental and international routes.

BlueFirst seats will be arranged in a two-by-two configuration, providing passengers with a dedicated premium cabin environment. The seats have been specially designed in partnership with sleep technology company Tuft & Needle and will feature T&N Flex foam, a material developed to provide additional support and pressure relief during flights.

Compared with JetBlue’s Main cabin seats, BlueFirst passengers will receive up to seven additional inches of legroom and approximately five inches of seat recline, creating a more spacious environment for longer domestic journeys.

Advanced Seating Technology and Enhanced Inflight Entertainment

Comfort will be a central feature of the BlueFirst experience, with JetBlue focusing heavily on upgraded seating design and personalised technology. Each seat will include a large 13.3-inch seatback entertainment screen equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing passengers to connect personal wireless headphones.

The screens will feature the latest version of Blueprint by JetBlue, the airline’s personalised inflight entertainment platform. The system is designed to provide a more customised experience by allowing passengers to access entertainment options and digital services during their journey.

Every BlueFirst seat will include multiple power options, including USB-A, USB-C and 110VAC outlets, enabling travellers to charge electronic devices throughout the flight.

JetBlue will also continue providing its complimentary Fly-Fi high-speed internet service, allowing passengers to remain connected from gate departure to arrival.

For overnight flights, BlueFirst travellers will receive additional comfort amenities, including a blanket and snooze kit designed to improve rest during evening journeys.

Digital Dining and Personalised Beverage Services Take Centre Stage

One of the major upgrades introduced with BlueFirst will be a digital ordering system integrated into the seatback entertainment platform.

Passengers will be able to order meals and beverages directly through the Blueprint system, with requests sent electronically to cabin crew members. The service is designed to reduce waiting times and provide passengers with greater control over their inflight experience.

A unique feature of BlueFirst will be Mixologist Mode, an interactive digital tool allowing passengers to create personalised cocktails by selecting preferred spirits, mixers and flavour combinations.

JetBlue is also introducing a refreshed premium dining programme called FirstFare. Meals will be served in a custom bento-style box, combining convenience with a more elevated presentation.

On flights covering 899 miles or more, passengers will receive a complete meal service featuring an entrée, side dish and dessert. Planned menu options include sweet and savoury crepes, sesame noodles with beef or tofu, and other rotating seasonal selections.

The premium snack programme will feature products from several speciality brands, including Sockerbit, Tosi, Wholesome Bakery, Pop Daddy Snacks and Cape Cod Chips. Snack choices will vary depending on route and aircraft.

The beverage programme will include wines selected by New York-based Parcelle, speciality coffee from Cometeer and Joe Coffee, and teas from Smith Teamaker. Premium glassware from Fable and artist-designed coasters created with New York illustrator Danielle Rose Fisher will add further personalised touches to the onboard experience.

BlueFirst Passengers Receive Exclusive Airport Advantages

Beyond onboard improvements, JetBlue is expanding the premium experience through additional airport benefits for BlueFirst travellers.

Passengers purchasing BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex fares will receive Group 1 boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, priority check-in and access to expedited security lanes at more than 30 airports.

The premium fares will also include flexible travel benefits, including no change or cancellation fees, two complimentary checked bags and priority baggage delivery.

These benefits are designed to provide a smoother airport journey, reducing waiting times and improving convenience from check-in to arrival.

JetBlue Expands Premium Strategy Across Growing Network

The introduction of BlueFirst follows JetBlue’s continued investment in premium services, including the expansion of its airport lounge concept. The airline recently opened its second BlueHouse lounge in Boston, strengthening its premium ground experience.

JetBlue has also received industry recognition for customer satisfaction in premium travel. The airline ranked first among first and business-class passengers in the JD Power 2026 North America Airline Satisfaction Study for the second consecutive year. Its BlueHouse lounge at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport was also recognised in Newsweek’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2026 as the top airport lounge.

With BlueFirst, JetBlue is positioning itself to compete more strongly in the premium domestic aviation market by combining upgraded comfort, digital innovation and personalised services.

The new cabin reflects changing traveller expectations, as passengers increasingly seek premium experiences that offer both convenience and value. Through BlueFirst, JetBlue aims to create a domestic first-class product that delivers enhanced comfort without moving away from the airline’s identity of approachable and customer-focused travel.
