Riyadh Air will begin daily nonstop flights between Mumbai and Riyadh on 4 August 2026, giving Indian travellers a new full-service option to Saudi Arabia and selected onward destinations. The route will use Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and become the airline’s first scheduled service from India.
Ticket sales opened on 6 July 2026 through the airline’s website, app and authorised travel channels. The service will link Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai with King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh every day.

Its evening departure from Mumbai is designed to reach the Saudi capital before midnight, while the return flight leaves Riyadh in the afternoon and reaches India during the evening. This timetable should suit corporate passengers, people visiting friends and relatives, holidaymakers and travellers transferring through Riyadh.
According to Riyadh Air’s official Mumbai route announcement, the service will also provide onward connections to regional and European destinations. The launch gives Riyadh Air direct access to one of India’s largest aviation and commercial markets while adding capacity on a corridor supported by trade, tourism, employment and family travel.
The service will operate once daily in each direction. Flight RX0697 is scheduled to leave Riyadh at 14:05 and arrive in Mumbai at 20:35. Flight RX0698 will depart Mumbai at 22:05 and land in Riyadh at 23:50. All timings are local.
The scheduled journey is about four hours from Riyadh and approximately four hours and fifteen minutes from Mumbai, after accounting for the two-and-a-half-hour time difference.

The late Mumbai departure may help passengers complete a working day before travelling. The return service also provides a convenient evening arrival in India. However, travellers should recheck flight times, terminals and connection windows before departure, as airline schedules can change for operational reasons. The published service begins on 4 August 2026.
Mumbai gives Riyadh Air an immediate presence in India’s leading corporate, financial and entertainment centre. The airport also serves a wide catchment across Maharashtra and western India, making the route relevant for point-to-point passengers and travellers connecting from other domestic cities.
The service is therefore more than a single international city pair. It marks the airline’s formal entry into India and creates a platform for future sales partnerships, corporate agreements and possible network expansion.
Riyadh Air had already identified India as an important market during an industry delegation visit in March 2025. Beginning with a daily wide-body service suggests that the carrier expects demand from several passenger segments rather than relying on seasonal holiday traffic alone. The route also gives the airline visibility in one of the world’s most competitive aviation markets.
Travel between India and Saudi Arabia is supported by commercial ties, a large Indian community, tourism, employment and regular family movement.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs describes the bilateral relationship as a strategic partnership based on long-standing economic and socio-cultural connections. Its latest bilateral brief records trade of USD 41.88 billion during the 2024–25 financial year and identifies India as Saudi Arabia’s second-largest trading partner.
That relationship creates regular demand from executives, technical professionals, traders, workers and families. A direct premium service from Mumbai can compete for passengers who value convenient timings, cabin choice and easier onward connections.
The flight can also serve Indian visitors travelling to Riyadh for conferences, exhibitions, entertainment, investment activity and short leisure breaks. Saudi travellers will gain direct access to Mumbai’s corporate districts, healthcare services, shopping, cultural attractions and wider tourism network.
Riyadh Air will deploy its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with Business Elite, Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins. This wider choice enables the airline to target premium corporate passengers while remaining accessible to price-conscious and leisure travellers.
The Riyadh Air cabin overview highlights privacy-focused Business seating, additional space in Premium Economy and a connected, modern Economy product. The airline’s published cabin material states that the aircraft accommodates 290 passengers.
On a medium-haul route such as Mumbai–Riyadh, the most noticeable benefits will include greater seat choice, modern entertainment and a quieter cabin environment.
Fare inclusions may differ between ticket categories. Passengers should therefore compare checked baggage, seat selection, lounge access, cancellation rules and change conditions before completing a booking. Premium cabin travellers should also confirm which ground services and priority benefits are included in their selected fare.
The aircraft’s technology package is designed to keep travellers connected and entertained throughout the journey. Riyadh Air says its inflight system supports Bluetooth, USB-C and conventional audio connections, allowing passengers to use compatible personal headphones.
Charging options include USB ports, while individual seat-back screens provide access to the airline’s entertainment library. These facilities should be useful for business travellers working across time zones, families managing children’s entertainment and passengers continuing beyond Riyadh.
The airline’s inflight entertainment and Wi-Fi guide provides further information about the connected onboard experience.
Actual Wi-Fi performance, available content and device compatibility may vary depending on aircraft systems, satellite coverage and membership status. Passengers planning to work during the flight should download essential documents beforehand rather than relying entirely on onboard connectivity.
Passengers can join Riyadh Air’s Sfeer loyalty programme and earn points on eligible journeys. Sfeer Points do not expire, while Level Points will support progression through membership levels as the programme develops.
Members booking directly can access the airline’s Best Offer Guaranteed proposition, priority assistance and complimentary onboard Wi-Fi. The scheme is also being developed around hospitality, mobility and entertainment partnerships rather than flights alone.
The official Sfeer programme page lists Hilton, Uber and muvi Cinemas among its partners. Additional earning and redemption opportunities are expected to be introduced as the airline’s network grows.
Travellers should register before booking and add their membership number to the reservation. This reduces the risk of eligible points or digital benefits being missed. Passengers should also check whether complimentary Wi-Fi requires them to log in with their Sfeer account after boarding.
The new flight is designed to position Riyadh as both a final destination and a transfer point. Saudi Arabia’s capital has expanded its business, cultural, dining, shopping and entertainment offering, creating reasons for short stays alongside traditional corporate travel.
Onward passengers may connect through King Khalid International Airport to destinations within Riyadh Air’s growing network. The airline has said Mumbai passengers will gain access to selected regional and European services.
Travellers should nevertheless examine the complete itinerary rather than focusing only on the Mumbai–Riyadh sector. Connection time, through-checked baggage, terminal arrangements, visa requirements and disruption protection remain important considerations.
A journey issued on one ticket generally provides stronger rebooking protection than separately purchased sectors. Riyadh Air’s where-we-fly page carries its latest published destination and network information.
The Mumbai route could establish Riyadh as another one-stop gateway for Indian passengers travelling towards selected cities in Europe and the Middle East.
Riyadh Air’s developing network includes destinations such as London, Madrid, Manchester, Dubai, Cairo and Jeddah. Further additions are expected as new aircraft enter service and the airline moves towards its longer-term international targets.
The value of each connecting itinerary will depend on flight frequency, minimum connection times and the alignment of arrival and departure schedules. A daily Mumbai service provides a stable foundation, but the second flight must connect conveniently to compete with established Gulf hubs.
Travellers should compare total journey time, baggage allowance, ticket conditions and disruption protection against nonstop services and alternative one-stop routes. A lower fare may not represent better value when it involves an extended airport wait or restrictive change conditions.
Riyadh Air is wholly owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and forms part of the Kingdom’s aviation, tourism and economic diversification strategy.
The airline aims to serve more than 100 destinations by 2030. Saudi Arabia’s wider aviation programme targets annual capacity of 330 million passengers, connections to more than 250 destinations and air cargo capacity of 4.5 million tonnes by the end of the decade.
The Mumbai route advances that plan by linking Riyadh with one of Asia’s largest business and outbound travel markets. It also strengthens Saudi Arabia’s effort to position its capital as a gateway between Asia, Europe and Africa.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation’s aviation programme outlines the national targets, while PIF positions Riyadh Air as a catalyst for tourism, international trade and non-oil economic growth.
The launch gives travel agencies, tour operators and corporate travel managers another product to include in India–Saudi Arabia itineraries.
Daily frequency simplifies planning for short business trips and family visits, while four cabin categories provide greater flexibility for corporate travel policies and mixed-budget groups. Travel agents selling onward journeys should compare Riyadh connection times carefully and explain fare conditions, baggage entitlements and transit requirements clearly.
Corporate buyers may also assess negotiated fares, ticket flexibility and loyalty benefits against their existing airline agreements.
For the wider travel trade, Riyadh Air’s Indian entry introduces a new supplier with ambitions beyond a single route. Strong local distribution, responsive passenger servicing and dependable operations will determine how quickly it establishes recognition among Indian travellers and agency partners.
Passengers should first confirm that their journey falls on or after 4 August 2026. They should then compare the total fare, including checked baggage, seat selection, ticket changes, refunds and lounge access.
Travellers connecting beyond Riyadh should verify whether the complete journey is issued on one ticket and whether baggage will be tagged to the final destination. Entry and transit requirements must be checked according to nationality, passport validity and purpose of travel.
Sfeer membership should be added before departure where applicable. Travellers should also retain digital copies of their booking confirmation, visa documents and onward itinerary.
Because this is a newly launched route, passengers may wish to monitor schedule updates and allow a sensible connection margin during the opening period. The daily frequency is a notable advantage, but careful itinerary planning will remain essential for a smooth journey.
Riyadh Air’s Mumbai launch introduces daily frequency, a modern wide-body aircraft and a new network proposition on an important international corridor.
Its long-term performance will depend on operational reliability, competitive pricing, strong Indian distribution and the quality of onward connections through Riyadh. For passengers, the immediate benefit is greater choice.
Business travellers gain another premium schedule. Families receive an additional nonstop link. Leisure passengers can consider Riyadh as either a destination or a gateway to other cities.
The route also signals that India will play a meaningful role in the airline’s international growth as more aircraft and destinations join its network. It begins with clear strategic foundations: strong bilateral relations, diverse passenger demand, daily operations and a timetable designed to accommodate several types of travel.
