The Wolseley Targets New York’s Global Elite with Exclusive Members Club Opening in Second Quarter of 2027
The Wolseley is expanding its luxury hospitality concept in the United States with the launch of The Wolseley Members Club, a new private members’ destination scheduled to open inside The Wolseley Hotel New York in the second quarter of 2027.
The new club will build on the heritage of The Wolseley in London, the renowned Piccadilly restaurant that has spent more than two decades establishing itself as a prominent meeting place for guests from business, culture, fashion, media, politics and the arts. Its combination of classic surroundings, attentive hospitality and strong social identity has helped make the London venue a recognised part of the capital’s dining and cultural landscape.
The New York members’ club will take this hospitality model into a more private, all-day setting. It is being designed for an internationally connected membership whose business, cultural and social interests frequently overlap.
Historic Manhattan Address Gains a New Hospitality Role
The Wolseley Members Club will be located at 130 West 44th Street in Manhattan’s Theatre District, within the forthcoming flagship The Wolseley Hotel New York.

The building itself carries a long connection with New York’s cultural community. Designed originally by architect Stanford White, it served as the clubhouse of The Lambs, regarded as America’s first professional theatrical club. For more than a century, the property provided a meeting place for actors, writers, producers and other figures associated with the city’s creative industries.
Its transformation into The Wolseley Hotel New York will therefore revive an important element of the building’s original social function. With a private members’ club operating inside the hotel, the historic property will once again become a setting designed around meetings, conversation, hospitality and cultural activity.

An All-Day Club Inside a 77-Room Luxury Hotel
The multi-level members’ club will form part of the 77-key The Wolseley Hotel New York, combining private hospitality spaces with the wider facilities of the luxury hotel.
At the centre of the club will be the restored Stanford White Room, one of the property’s most architecturally important spaces. The historic room is intended to become the social and cultural heart of the club.

It will accommodate gatherings, performances, private functions and cultural programmes, reconnecting the property with its longstanding tradition of bringing together people from different professions, generations and creative communities.
Beyond this central space, members will have access to a collection of lounges, private salons, dining rooms and terraces. These areas are being planned to support different activities throughout the day, allowing the club to function as much more than an evening social destination.
From Breakfast Meetings to Post-Theatre Evenings
The Wolseley Members Club is being developed around an all-day hospitality concept.
Members will be able to use the property for breakfast, informal morning meetings, business lunches and afternoon conversations before moving into evening dining and social occasions.

Its Manhattan Theatre District location will also position the club for post-theatre suppers and late-night drinks, while a cocktail lounge on the hotel’s cellar level will broaden the evening experience.
This flexible format is intended to encourage frequent use. Rather than operating solely as a special-occasion venue, the club is being positioned as a place that can become part of members’ everyday routines in New York.
Membership to Connect Business, Culture and the Arts
The membership strategy is expected to reflect the diversity and international character of New York.
The club plans to bring together both established and emerging figures from business, hospitality, culture, philanthropy and the arts, creating an environment where professional and social communities can interact naturally.
International connectivity will also form an important part of the concept. The Wolseley Members Club intends to strengthen relationships between New York and London, while eventually creating links with other major global cities through a wider club network.
The emphasis will be on developing a community centred around cultural engagement, hospitality, conversation and international connections.

Wellness, Dining and Cultural Programming Expand the Experience
Membership benefits are expected to extend beyond the club’s dining rooms and social spaces.
Members will receive preferred access to selected hotel facilities, including wellness services and longevity programming, alongside dining privileges available within the wider property.
Future reciprocal access across The Wolseley Members Club network is also planned, potentially allowing members to benefit from the brand’s expanding international presence as additional locations emerge.
Programming will play another major role in establishing the club’s identity. Plans include literary salons, hosted dinners, cultural events and social gatherings, supported by additional cultural privileges.
Through these experiences, The Wolseley aims to create a membership environment where hospitality works alongside cultural programming and professional networking.
The opening of The Wolseley Members Club in Q2 2027 will therefore represent more than the arrival of another private club in Manhattan. It will combine the heritage of a historic New York building with the hospitality traditions associated with The Wolseley in London, creating a new social and cultural destination in the heart of the Theatre District.

“We wanted to create an all-day social living room for people whose lives move effortlessly between Uptown and Downtown, New York and London,” said Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International, the parent company of The Wolseley Hotels. “What excites us most is bringing together people who might not otherwise find themselves in the same room: founders and artists, producers and investors, hoteliers and philanthropists, established voices and emerging talent. That spirit of conversation and connection has always been central to The Wolseley in London, and there could be no more fitting place to begin this new chapter than 130 West 44th Street.”
As both the restoration of a historic clubhouse and the inaugural expression of The Wolseley Members Club, the New York opening marks a new chapter for one of Manhattan’s most storied addresses.
