A major new Luxury address is set to be introduced to the Gold Coast Hospitality market after La Vie Hotels & Resorts was appointed to manage the destination’s first Westin Hotel. The 138-key property will be developed by Australian-based M Property as part of a new mixed-use development, with an opening currently expected in late 2029.

The appointment has been described as an important milestone for La Vie Hotels & Resorts, whose portfolio of premium hotels and resorts continues to be expanded across Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. Through the agreement, the company will be responsible for operating the Westin Hotel, while the internationally recognised Westin brand will be introduced to the Gold Coast for the first time.

The project is being developed under a franchise agreement involving M Property and Marriott International. Once completed, the hotel is expected to bring Westin’s established wellness-focused guest experience to one of Australia’s best-known coastal destinations.

First Westin Hotel to Strengthen Gold Coast Hospitality

The future Westin Hotel is expected to occupy levels six to twenty-five of the new mixed-use development. A total of 138 keys will be provided, including 115 premium guest rooms and 23 suites.

Views across the Pacific Ocean or the Gold Coast hinterland are expected to be offered from the accommodation. Convenient access to nearby transport connections will also be provided, allowing guests to explore the wider Gold Coast with greater ease.

The development has been planned to serve both leisure and business travellers. A signature restaurant and bar are expected to be included, alongside conference and meeting facilities designed for corporate events, professional gatherings and private functions.

An infinity pool and pool bar will also form part of the planned guest offering. Dedicated parking is expected to be provided, supporting visitors arriving by road and adding further convenience to the overall stay experience.

The project will expand Marriott International’s presence in the Gold Coast Hospitality sector. Two resorts are currently operated by Marriott on the Gold Coast, while four more properties are included in its development pipeline.

Luxury Wellness Facilities to Shape the Guest Experience

Wellness will be placed at the centre of the new Luxury hotel experience. The Gold Coast is widely associated with an active coastal lifestyle, making it a suitable setting for a Westin Hotel built around health, rest and personal well-being.

Westin properties are designed around the brand’s recognised Eat Well, Sleep Well and Move Well principles. These pillars are used to help guests maintain familiar wellness routines while travelling.

At the new Gold Coast property, a WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio is expected to be created. The brand’s Heavenly Spa by Westin is also planned, giving guests access to dedicated spaces for exercise, relaxation and rejuvenation.

The proposed facilities will allow the Luxury positioning of the hotel to be supported by wellness-led services rather than accommodation alone. Dining, fitness, rest and recreation are expected to be brought together within one integrated Hospitality setting.

The Westin Hotel will therefore be designed as more than a coastal place to stay. A complete guest journey is expected to be delivered through accommodation, wellness, food and beverage, business facilities and leisure amenities.

La Vie Hotels & Resorts Selected as Operating Partner

La Vie Hotels & Resorts has been selected to operate the property because of its experience in third-party hotel management and its work with major international Hospitality brands.

M Property stated that the signing represented an important step in its long-term vision for the Gold Coast as a world-class Hospitality destination. The partnership with Marriott International and the arrival of the Westin brand were presented as major milestones for the development.

It was also explained that Westin’s emphasis on wellness and elevated guest experiences closely matched the objectives established for the project. The appointment of La Vie Hotels & Resorts was welcomed because of the operator’s track record, professionalism and understanding of the full guest journey.

Confidence was expressed that La Vie Hotels & Resorts would be the right management partner for the new Luxury hotel. The company’s operational capabilities are expected to be combined with the Westin Hotel brand standards and M Property’s development vision.

For La Vie Hotels & Resorts, the agreement will further strengthen its position within Australia’s premium Hospitality market. The company already manages a diverse collection of hotels, resorts and boutique properties in major cities and established tourism destinations.

Its portfolio includes properties across Australia, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Thailand, with additional hotels under development. Regional offices are maintained in Sydney, Bangkok, Singapore and Dubai.

The Westin Hotel agreement will add an important Luxury property to the company’s Australian portfolio. It will also place La Vie Hotels & Resorts at the centre of a high-profile mixed-use development in the Gold Coast market.

Once opened, the hotel is expected to deliver Westin’s globally recognised wellness-led Hospitality concept in one of Australia’s most prominent coastal destinations. Its guestrooms, suites, dining venues, meeting spaces, infinity pool, fitness studio and spa will be brought together under one premium operating model.

The project will represent the first Westin Hotel on the Gold Coast and another major step in the expansion of branded Luxury Hospitality within the destination.
