Adani Airports Opens 80-Room Swirl Transit Hotel at Navi Mumbai International Airport
Adani Airport Holdings Limited has opened the 80-room Swirl Transit Hotel at Navi Mumbai International Airport, giving passengers a place to sleep, shower, eat and work without leaving Terminal 1. The move adds a new layer of airport hospitality as Mumbai’s newest aviation gateway builds its passenger-services offer.
Adani Airport Holdings Limited, the airport business of the Adani Group, has launched Swirl Transit Hotel at Navi Mumbai International Airport, creating an accommodation option for passengers who need a short break, overnight room or work space between flights.

The 80-room property is located on the Arrivals Level of Terminal 1 and is designed to serve travellers with long layovers, early-morning departures, late-night arrivals and extended waiting times at the airport. Guests can book rooms for four-hour stays or overnight use, allowing them to rest and refresh without travelling into Mumbai or Navi Mumbai city.
The hotel is part of AAHL’s wider push to expand non-aeronautical services across its airport portfolio. For an airport operator, such services include retail, food and beverage, lounges, parking, hospitality and other passenger facilities that provide convenience beyond the flight itself.

A hotel within the terminal environment
Swirl Transit Hotel occupies two floors at Terminal 1. Its location inside the airport environment is intended to make it practical for passengers who have limited time between flights or do not want the uncertainty of city traffic before an onward journey.
The concept is especially relevant at a major airport serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, where road travel can be time-consuming and flight schedules often require passengers to arrive well before departure. A transit hotel can also help international travellers arriving late at night, families travelling with children, business passengers preparing for meetings and travellers facing long connections.

AAHL said the hotel enables passengers to rest, work or refresh between flights while remaining close to airport operations.
“Swirl Transit Hotel brings accommodation into the airport environment, giving travellers greater flexibility to rest, work or refresh between flights,” said Suchit Bansal, Chief Executive Officer, Non-Aero Business, AAHL.

“Navi Mumbai International Airport is being developed as a large-scale aviation and passenger services hub, and offerings such as Swirl add to the convenience of travelling through the airport. We see an opportunity to take this proposition to other airports across our network and build a wider transit hospitality offering.”
Rooms, dining and short-stay facilities
The property has six room categories: Superior Single, Superior Double, Superior Twin, Superior Accessible, Junior Suite and Executive Suite. Room sizes range from 130 square feet to 410 square feet, giving the hotel options for solo passengers, couples, families and travellers seeking more space.
Facilities include high-speed Wi-Fi, smart televisions, workstations, electronic safes, tea and coffee-making facilities, premium linen, toiletries and in-room dining. The hotel also offers shower facilities, which will be useful for passengers who need to freshen up during a long airport stay without necessarily booking an overnight room.
Other services include 24-hour housekeeping, concierge assistance, express laundry, wake-up calls and pick-up and drop services. The inclusion of workstations and business-focused facilities reflects the airport’s aim to appeal to corporate travellers, particularly those using short domestic sectors or travelling through the Mumbai region for meetings.

The food and beverage offer includes a 24-hour all-day dining restaurant with seating for 40 guests. Guests can also use round-the-clock in-room dining, grab-and-go food options and a bar. This is significant for airport passengers because flight timings do not always align with regular hotel restaurant hours.
A new service layer for Navi Mumbai airport
Navi Mumbai International Airport is one of India’s largest greenfield international airport projects. It was developed to support the growing aviation demand of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, alongside the long-established Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
According to AAHL, NMIA began commercial operations on 25 December 2025 and launched international operations on 29 July 2026, with its first international service operating to Abu Dhabi. The airport is now building out a broader mix of passenger, retail, food, hospitality and other non-aeronautical services.
The opening of Swirl comes as airports increasingly compete on the quality of the overall passenger journey, rather than operating solely as places for departure and arrival. Transit accommodation is already a familiar feature at several major international hubs worldwide. At Indian airports, it is becoming more important as domestic networks widen, international connections increase and travellers seek greater comfort during irregular flight timings.
For NMIA, the hotel also offers a practical alternative for passengers who have several hours to wait but do not have sufficient time for a city hotel stay. Instead of sitting in a terminal, travellers can use a private room, have a shower, take a meal and return to the airport process with less disruption.
Guwahati expansion planned
AAHL plans to extend the Swirl Transit Hotel concept to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. The planned 21-room property will be located on Level 3 of the Arrivals area inside the airport-secured zone of Terminal 2.

The Guwahati hotel will offer hourly and overnight stays, dining and hospitality services. It is expected to serve transit travellers, arriving passengers, departing passengers with lengthy waiting times and business travellers.
AAHL said the Guwahati property will also include workstations and meeting-friendly spaces, offering travellers an option to continue business activity between flights. The plan underlines the operator’s intention to develop a recognisable airport hospitality brand across multiple Indian gateways.
What the launch means for travellers
For passengers, Swirl Transit Hotel provides a more flexible airport experience. A traveller arriving after a late flight, leaving on an early departure or waiting through a long connection can use the hotel without undertaking an additional city transfer.
The four-hour booking option is particularly suited to short layovers and daytime breaks. Overnight stays will appeal to passengers whose onward flights leave the following morning or who reach the airport late at night.
The launch also shows how Indian airports are developing into broader travel spaces, combining aviation, hospitality, dining, retail and business facilities in one location. As NMIA grows its flight network, these services could become an important part of its passenger proposition.
Swirl Transit Hotel gives Navi Mumbai International Airport a practical new facility for passengers needing rest, work space or a shower between flights. With an 80-room property now open and a Guwahati expansion planned, AAHL is positioning airport-based hospitality as a central part of its wider passenger-services strategy.
