Aspire Opens New American Express Premium Lounge at Calgary Airport With Luxury Travel Experience

Aspire Pre-Flight Hospitality, Swissport’s global airport hospitality division, is opening American Express’s first co-branded lounge at Calgary International Airport. This is the second American Express partnership for Aspire in the Canada market. Cardmembers will have priority and have access to the lounge and exclusive services and amenities offered as part of the partnership.

Created to offer a premium pre-flight experience, the new Calgary lounge provides travellers with a comfortable and relaxing environment away from the busy airport terminal. Whether passengers are business travellers needing a productive space before departure or leisure travellers looking for a peaceful retreat, the lounge has been designed to meet a variety of travel needs.

The facility features 109 carefully designed seating spaces suitable for individual travellers, families and groups. Guests can also enjoy high-speed WiFi, convenient personal charging facilities and a range of amenities designed to improve comfort and productivity before boarding their flights.

To reflect Calgary’s unique character and natural surroundings, Aspire worked with Canadian design and architecture firm Menard Dworkind, led by David Dworkind, to create a distinctive sense of place within the lounge. The interior combines nature-inspired colour schemes with warm wood finishes, creating a calm atmosphere influenced by Canada’s iconic après-ski style.

The design approach blends modern airport hospitality with elements inspired by the Canadian landscape, offering travellers a welcoming space that captures the spirit of Calgary while delivering a refined pre-flight experience.

Aspire has enhanced the lounge’s dining experience through a collaboration with Charcut, a celebrated Calgary-based restaurant founded by acclaimed chefs Connie DeSousa and John Jackson, both recognised for their appearances on The Food Network. The partnership brings a carefully crafted culinary offering to travellers, featuring a selection of refined small plates served with table service, alongside convenient grab-and-go choices for passengers with limited time before their flights.

To complement the food experience, Aspire has also partnered with Missy’s, one of North America’s leading cocktail and wine bars and a recognised name among Canada’s 100 Best Bars. The collaboration introduces an elevated beverage programme, giving guests access to premium drinks and a sophisticated lounge atmosphere before departure.

Situated in Concourse A near Gate A21, the new lounge welcomes guests every day from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., providing travellers with convenient access to premium pre-flight services throughout the day.
