The investment strategy covers King Pine Ski Resort, Purity Spring Resort and Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort, with improvements designed to strengthen their appeal to families, outdoor enthusiasts and leisure travellers.

The programme includes a proposed new ski base lodge, additional trails, upgraded snowmaking facilities, renovated accommodation and expanded entertainment spaces.

The announcement also introduces a revised management structure intended to support long-term development while maintaining the family-owned character of the properties.

The Hoyt family has operated hospitality and recreational businesses in the region for more than 115 years. Its latest plans represent a transition towards a more integrated approach to investment, branding and guest services.

Paul J. Morra Appointed to Lead Development and Brand Strategy

Paul J. Morra, a two-time Emmy Award-winning producer, has joined the business as Managing Partner of Development, Design and Brand.

Morra will oversee capital investment planning, property development, design improvements and brand strategy across the family’s hospitality portfolio.

His professional background includes founding Swift River Productions and working with major international companies, including Microsoft, Adidas, the NFL and Wynn Resorts.

He also received a Cannes Gold Lion in 2017 alongside his brother Kevin Morra for their work on a Cigna advertising campaign.

Morra has longstanding personal connections with Madison and the Mount Washington Valley, having attended the family’s Tohkomeupog summer camp from childhood.

His appointment is expected to introduce a stronger focus on coordinated property improvements, contemporary hospitality design and consistent guest experiences.

King Pine Ski Resort Targets New Lodge and Expanded Trails by 2030

King Pine Ski Resort is preparing one of the most substantial elements of the development programme.

Plans include additional ski trails and a new base lodge incorporating live music and event facilities, with completion targeted for 2030.

Before those longer-term developments, the resort is introducing several improvements for the forthcoming winter season.

These include upgraded snowmaking equipment, refreshed tavern facilities, new guest lockers, improved trail signage and additional family-oriented après-ski activities.

King Pine is also joining the Indy Pass network as a full member, potentially increasing its visibility among skiers seeking access to multiple independent resorts.

The proposed developments could help the resort attract both returning visitors and new customers seeking accessible winter recreation in New England.

Purity Spring Resort Plans Multimillion-Dollar Accommodation Renovations

Purity Spring Resort is also preparing substantial improvements to its accommodation and hospitality facilities.

The Inn at Purity Spring Resort has undergone exterior refurbishment, including updated paintwork, landscaping, fencing and signage.

A separate multimillion-dollar guest room renovation is planned, although the announcement does not specify a completion date.

The resort’s on-site restaurant, Traditions, is scheduled for an interior renovation during the coming year.

These investments are intended to improve accommodation quality, dining facilities and the overall visitor experience.

For the regional tourism industry, upgraded lodging and food services could support demand from families, weekend visitors and travellers exploring the White Mountains throughout the year.

Ali Hoyt Takes Responsibility for Hospitality and Strategy

Ali Hoyt has been appointed Managing Partner of Hospitality and Strategy, representing the next generation of Hoyt family leadership.

A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Hoyt brings nearly 15 years of hospitality industry experience.

Her career includes senior consulting responsibilities at STR, where she worked with hospitality businesses using performance data and market analysis.

She is also co-founder of Larkspur Hospitality Consulting and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants.

Hoyt will oversee strategic planning, market positioning and guest experience improvements across the family’s businesses.

She joins existing managing partners Steven Hoyt and Andrew Mahoney, both of whom have worked in the family business for more than three decades.

The leadership changes follow the death of her father, Bob Hoyt, in 2020 and reflect the family’s commitment to maintaining its multigenerational ownership.

What the Investment Means for White Mountains Tourism

The planned developments could strengthen Madison’s position as a year-round leisure destination.

Improved ski infrastructure may support winter visitation, while accommodation upgrades, camping facilities and expanded event spaces could attract travellers beyond the traditional skiing season.

The strategy also reflects growing interest in hospitality properties offering several recreational experiences within a single destination.

However, the financial value of the overall investment programme, construction schedules for several projects and projected visitor growth have not been disclosed.

The success of the expansion will therefore depend on how the proposed developments progress and how effectively the properties respond to changing visitor expectations.
