The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is increasing its backing for agri- business and tourism in association with Raiffeisen Bank Albania, the Albanian administration along with the European Union (EU). The Bank is offering a €12 million risk-sharing enablement under the Albania Agribusiness and Tourism Support Facility (AATSF).
The AATSF is an exclusive structure appropriate for Albania to back two dynamic yet under-funded
segments of the economy of the country. It targets to advance admission to fund for small and medium-sized enterprises and companies in partnership with profitable banks in Albania. The AATSF also comprises a funding inducement of 10 per cent focused to sub-borrowers in the agri-business and tourism segments, subsidized by the administration of Albania and the EU, correspondingly. The government will support the enablement with a First Loss Risk Cover.
This risk-sharing facility is an alteration to a contract already prepared with Raiffeisen Bank Albania for the
agri-business segment, as part of the earlier Albania Agri-business Support Facility (AASF), which was inked in 2019 for a range of up to €35 million. A tranche of €12 million has been dedicated, as part of the portfolio.
The arrangement has also extended to comprise the tourism segment, which is a treasured basis of revenue for Albania.
