The Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) will bring together India’s leading chefs and culinary professionals for the 23rd Annual Chef Awards 2026, scheduled to take place on 31 October 2026 at Le Méridien, New Delhi. The prestigious event will coincide with International Chefs Day celebrations and will serve as a platform to honour culinary excellence, celebrate professional achievements and encourage innovation within India’s food and hospitality industry.
Founded on the belief of “from chefs, by chefs and for chefs,” the Chef Awards have evolved into one of the country’s most respected culinary recognition platforms. The event combines professional honours, competitive culinary challenges and industry discussions, creating an environment where chefs can showcase their expertise, exchange knowledge and contribute to the growth of the profession.

Over the past two decades, the awards have played an important role in recognising talent across India’s culinary sector. The platform allows chefs to test their abilities, measure their skills against industry standards and gain recognition for their dedication, creativity and craftsmanship. It also supports the development of young culinary professionals by motivating the next generation of chefs to pursue excellence and build stronger careers in the hospitality sector.
Applications for the 2026 edition are now open, with the deadline for nominations and entries set for 20 September 2026. This year’s awards will honour culinary professionals across 18 different categories, including six Top Chef Awards and 12 Master Chef categories.

The Top Chef Awards will follow a nomination-based selection process, with final winners chosen by a distinguished Grand Jury. Meanwhile, the Master Chef categories will feature practical culinary challenges and professional trade tests, allowing participants to demonstrate their technical knowledge, creativity and operational skills in a competitive environment.
The Master Chef competitions will focus on several key areas of culinary performance, including food preparation techniques, creativity, hygiene standards, presentation, efficiency and professional discipline. Participants will be assessed on important criteria such as kitchen hygiene, wastage control, mise-en-place management, visual presentation, cooking ability, taste, texture and overall execution.
A structured evaluation system will ensure transparency and consistency throughout the judging process, with jury members measuring participants against clearly defined professional benchmarks. The approach aims to recognise chefs who demonstrate not only creativity but also precision, discipline and a strong understanding of modern culinary practices.
The 2026 edition will introduce an additional reward element for Master Chef participants, with winners receiving a cash prize of ₹20,000 for the first time. The new incentive is expected to further enhance participation and add greater competitiveness to the culinary challenges while acknowledging the dedication, preparation and expertise demonstrated by participating chefs.
Through its continued efforts, the Indian Culinary Forum aims to strengthen the profile of India’s culinary profession, celebrate outstanding talent and create opportunities for chefs to achieve greater recognition on a national platform.
Chef Davinder Kumar, President, Indian Culinary Forum, said, “The Chef Awards have always been about the chefs and their craft. Over the years, they have given professionals a platform to showcase their abilities, challenge themselves and learn from their peers. This year, with the introduction of prize money for the Master Chef categories, we are adding another incentive for chefs to compete and put their skills to the test. As we enter the 23rd edition, we invite chefs and culinary students from across the country to come forward and participate. Our philosophy remains simple: from chefs, by chefs and for chefs.”
The 2026 edition will also host the 14th Knowledge Summit, a key industry forum where hospitality professionals, culinary experts and leading chefs will come together to share insights, explore innovations and examine the latest developments influencing the food and hospitality landscape. Scheduled at the same venue before the Awards Ceremony, the Summit will serve as a focused platform for meaningful discussions, collaboration and the exchange of knowledge among members of the culinary and hospitality community.
Chef Vivek Saggar, General Secretary, Indian Culinary Forum, said, “A chef’s growth is built through constant practice, learning and the willingness to keep raising one’s own standards. The Master Chef competitions give chefs an opportunity to put their skills to the test, while the Top Chef Awards acknowledge the experience and contribution built over the course of a career. The Knowledge Summit adds another important dimension by bringing the industry together to exchange ideas and discuss the future of the profession.”
The six prestigious Top Chef Awards will honour outstanding culinary professionals through categories such as the Lifetime Achievement Award, Golden Hat Chef Award, Silver Hat Chef Award, Academic Chef of the Year Award, Pastry Chef of the Year and the Shri. Anil Bhandari Memorial – Chef of the Year Award. Each category follows specific eligibility standards, recognising candidates based on their professional journey, educational background, expertise and contributions to the culinary or academic sectors.
The 12 Master Chef categories will highlight excellence across a wide range of culinary specialisations. These include Master Chef International Confectionary, Master Chef Oriental Cuisine, Master Chef North Indian Cuisine, Master Chef South/East/West Indian Cuisine, Master Chef Indian Sweets, Master Chef Kebabs, Master Chef International Cuisine, Master Chef Baker, Vegetable Carving, Master Butcher, Student of the Year Male and Student of the Year Female. The competitions are designed to test creativity, technical ability, precision and practical skills, while also providing a platform for emerging young culinary professionals.
The 23rd Annual Chef Awards 2026 will conclude with a grand Awards Ceremony and Gala Night featuring a Gourmet Dinner. The celebration will bring together leading chefs, culinary experts and hospitality professionals from across India to recognise exceptional talent, innovation and achievements within the country’s vibrant food industry.
