At Saputara, the Gujarat Tourism Development Corporation arranged ‘Megh Malhar Parv 2022’. This month-long festival started on July 30st, in the middle of charming Gujarat monsoon.
Honourable Tourism Minister, Shri Purnesh Modi, inaugurated the festival. Also, the ceremony turned even more elegant with the gracious presence of Shri Mangalbhai Gavit – President, District Panchayat – Dang, MP Dr. KC Patel, Honourable MLA, Shri Vijay Patel, Shri Alok Kumar Pander, Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd., and other well-known names.
A wide range of events, cultural, entertainment and traditional activities can be seen in this festival to attract domestic as well as foreign tourists to Saputara, one of the finest hill stations of Gujarat.
This month-long annual monsoon festival is anticipated to keep the visitors hooked with sundry competitions like Rain Run Marathon, Dahi Handi, Nature Treasure Hunt, Boat Racing and many others. With activities like quiz contests, dangi dance performances, seminars, and competitions like rangoli, musical, and photography competitions, the weekends in Saputara will get a new life. Also, this month-long festival will feature workshops related to artistry & creativity like photography, bamboo crafting, art painting, Warli painting, and other events.
Saputara in the last two decades experienced huge fame as a tourist hotspot owing to the wonderful attractiveness during the monsoons. In Saputara, amongst the key attractions, the most cherished are Balasinor Dinosaur Museum Eco Point, Governor Hill, Rope-way, local Dangi dance, Shabri Dham, and Waghai Botanical Garden.
