On Sunday, the Gujarat government signed ten memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with an
investment intention of Rs 770 crore for the development of tourism in the state. The plans
include establishing a four-star resort, an entertainment zone, and a cultural theme park.
The Vibrant Gujarat Summit, aiming to position the state as the most favorable investment
destination, is scheduled to be held in Gandhinagar in January next year.

The MoUs were signed at an event organized ahead of the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat
Global Summit at Ekta Nagar in the Narmada district, near the world’s tallest Statue of Unity.
MoUs were exchanged at the 15th annual meeting jointly organized by the Gujarat Tourism
Corporation and Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) in the presence of
Mulabhai Bera, State Minister for Tourism, Forest, and Environment.

An MoU was signed with an investment intention of Rs 145 crore for the establishment of a
four-star resort, conference, and convention area in the tribal-dominated Narmada district.
The project aims to create employment opportunities for over 450 local tribals.

Another MoU, with an investment intention of Rs 400 crore, was signed for the construction
of a world-class entertainment zone and culture theme park in the state capital, Gandhinagar.
The project aims to provide employment to 1,100 people.

Two MoUs, indicating an investment intention of Rs 225 crore, were signed for cinematic
tourism in the districts of Gir Somnath and Kutch. This initiative has the potential to create
jobs for 2,500 locals.

Mulabhai Bera mentioned that Gujarat’s tourism sector has evolved to attract visitors from
across the country and the world. During the Diwali vacation, Gujarat welcomed 42 lakh
visitors to various tourist spots.

Gujarat has successfully positioned itself on the global tourism map with innovative projects
catering to all age groups. The state’s diverse tourist destinations and rich cultural heritage
have received recognition from the United Nations, contributing to the creation of new
employment opportunities.

Gujarat Tourism Secretary Hareet Shukla highlighted a significant investment of Rs 14,000
crore in a single phase for the development of the state’s tourism sector. The Gujarat
government has tripled its budget allocation to foster the growth and enhancement of the
tourism industry.
