Hong Kong Airlines is delighted to announce the resumption of its regular direct flights to Kagoshima from 31 March 2024, further expanding the Company’s route network in the Kyushu region of Japan and providing passengers with additional travel options.

Following the launch of Fukuoka service in April and the reintroduction of Kumamoto route in December last year, Hong Kong Airlines is now expanding further into the Kyushu market by adding Kagoshima as its third destination in the region. This will offer passengers with a key network connecting northern and southern Kyushu.  The route, which is conveniently timed to coincide with the cherry blossom season, operates three times a week on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. With flights departing in the morning and returning in the afternoon, travellers are provided with a flexible schedule for cherry blossom viewing.

The Kagoshima route plays a significant role in the Company’s history. The route has been warmly received by travellers since its first operations in 2014. It was also the Company’s first destination in the Kyushu region. Hong Kong Airlines is pleased to resume direct services to Kagoshima after a four-year hiatus, reintegrating this popular destination into its expanding network in Japan.

Located at the southern tip of Kyushu, Kagoshima enjoys a pleasant climate and is rich in natural beauty throughout all seasons. In addition to its active volcanic landscape and abundant hot springs, it is also home to several World Natural Heritage sites. Kagoshima has long been a popular tourist destination in Kyushu as it is renowned for producing a wide variety of high-quality food and agricultural products and offers a range of traditional handicrafts and maritime activities for visitors to explore.

Hong Kong Airlines is committed to meeting the travel needs of its passengers. Since last year, it has progressively launched and resumed services to multiple destinations in Japan, including regular flights to Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Nagoya, Tokyo (Narita), Osaka, Okinawa, Sapporo, and seasonal flights to Hakodate and Yonago. The Company will continue to actively explore more new destinations for travellers.
