Additionally, 32.44 crore (324.4 million) domestic tourists eager to explore its rich cultural heritage during the same timeframe.

Rajasthan has consistently been a favored destination for both domestic and international tourists. “Following the coronavirus outbreak, there has been a noticeable influx of local tourists to the state, along with a considerable increase in international tourists,” stated Daleep Singh Rathore, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department.

The newly elected BJP administration is keen on positioning Rajasthan as a top tourist destination nationally.

Notable visits by international leaders such as Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala and French President Emmanuel Macron have further bolstered Rajasthan’s reputation as a premier international tourism spot.

Diya Kumari, a member of the former Jaipur royal family and the current Deputy Chief Minister with the tourism portfolio, is proactively engaging with international delegations to achieve this goal.

“We are committed to turning Rajasthan into the foremost choice for tourists. The department has been tasked with a 100-day action plan, requiring a well-rounded strategy and its execution,” Diya Kumari emphasized. She highlighted efforts to improve connectivity and infrastructure, along with enhancing the quality of hospitality services as key to achieving this vision.

These tourism statistics were shared by Diya Kumari in response to an inquiry by BJP MLA Kalicharan Saraf in the Rajasthan Assembly. According to her data, Rajasthan saw nearly 18 crore (180 million) domestic and 17 lakh (1.7 million) international tourists in 2023 alone.
