Keystone Resort has officially started the 2025-26 North American ski season, becoming the first North American ski area to open for skiing. Beginning today, from 3-6 PM MT, Keystone invites skiers and snowboarders to over two miles of freshly groomed terrain with the Schoolmarm and Silver Spoon trails open. As part of Opening Day festivities, Keystone is opening in the afternoon for the first time to give guests the chance to ski and ride into the evening, under night skiing lights.

The festivities are not just about skiing; the resort is creating a complete experience with an early season hike-to terrain park, set under snowcat lights, live DJ music, and affordable eats, such as $5.50 beers and hot dogs, to celebrate Keystone’s 55th season. Sunday will mark the first full day of operations with the resort opening from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. MT, featuring free donuts, hot coffee, and a warm welcome to winter.

Keystone Resort is part of the Vail Resorts family, offering guests access to the Epic Pass, which is on sale now, providing the best value for skiers and riders looking to make the most of the entire season.

New Terrain and Upgrades for Ski Enthusiasts

Keystone’s early opening will give skiers and riders access to the River Run Gondola and Montezuma Express Lift for scenic mountain views and exciting runs. As the season progresses, snowmaking teams are working tirelessly to expand the resort’s terrain, ensuring more slopes will open in the coming weeks.

Families will appreciate the convenience of free parking in River Run Gondola Lot and Mountain House, along with carpooling options designed to simplify access to the resort.

New Luxury Development: Kindred Resort

For those seeking luxury, Keystone’s River Run Village is welcoming the highly anticipated Kindred Resort, which promises to elevate the ski experience. This ski-in, ski-out resort will feature upscale amenities, including a year-round heated pool, patio cocktail service, four new dining options, and a full-service spa. Guests can also take advantage of valet ski storage and direct access to the River Run Gondola.

Kindred Resort will serve as the new home base for the Keystone Ski & Ride School, providing an enhanced experience for guests looking to learn or refine their skiing and snowboarding skills.

Exciting Events and Activities Throughout the Season

Keystone is set to host a wide range of events throughout the 2025-26 winter season, making it a must-visit destination for skiers, snowboarders, and families alike. The Snow Fort After Dark event, along with the Military Winter Games, will bring high-energy experiences to the resort. Keystone is also proud to welcome the National Brotherhood of Snowsports Annual Summit, which returns for its second consecutive year with a week of nonstop skiing and events.

For those looking for more than just skiing, Keystone offers snow tubing, ice skating, sleigh rides, and plenty of après-ski options to unwind after a thrilling day on the slopes.

Keystone’s Kids Ski Free Program Returns

Keystone is making family travel even easier with the return of its Kids Ski Free program. Kids 12 and younger can ski for free when families book two or more nights of lodging through Keystone Resort. This program has been a staple for families since 2012, making Keystone one of the most family-friendly ski resorts in North America.

New Ski & Ride School Features in My Epic App

For tech-savvy skiers, Keystone Resort will launch a new feature in the My Epic app in December, providing parents and students with the ability to easily check in for lessons, track progress, and even receive digital badges celebrating milestones and achievements. This innovative addition will enhance the experience for families participating in the resort’s Ski & Ride School.
