Major fire outbreak in Purna-Parli passenger train near Nanded, Maharashtra; swift action controls blaze, investigation into cause ongoing.
In Purna-Parli passenger train close to Nanded in Maharashtra experienced a huge break out of fire. An examination is ongoing into how the fire actually started in the train. The train was immediately stopped after the fire new spread, and the fire brigade was called right away. The fire brigade together with the help of local people close by started trying to douse the fire as well. The cause of the fire is not yet been ascertained rightly.
For the last several days, fire related incidents have been taking place in several trains in India. In Nanded, the passenger train fire has been brought under control. However, the investigation is still continuing as to why this fire broke out.
In the Nanded maintenance Yard today, the South-Central Railways Chief PRO told a news source that fire broke out in an empty luggage-cum-guard van coach. Within 30 minutes, the fire was totally brought under control and there was no injury to any other coaches.
On the scene, fire tenders arrived shortly after the happening and tried to put out the fire.
