New York Sees Disney Lakeshore Lodge Ahead of 2027 Launch
Disney Lakeshore Lodge arrives in New York City, long before the new Walt Disney World resort welcomes its first overnight guests in Florida. Disney has launched an interactive 3D street-art installation in Manhattan’s Flatiron Plaza to reveal a preview of the nature-inspired Disney Lakeshore Lodge, opening to Disney guests in 1 July 2027.
The temporary exhibit at 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue will mimic a Daydream River, the lazy river that is to be part of the outdoor amusement space for the Walt Disney World resort. Viewers can become part of the three-dimensional exhibit through photographs and videos.

Grand Villas will sleep up to 12 people. Disney will also have 1- and 2-bedroom waterfront Lake Houses that feature kitchens and porch and Bay Lake views.
Daydream River Becomes the Star of New York Preview
The Manhattan installation gives travellers a visual introduction to Daydream River, one of the recreational attractions planned for the resort.
Daydream River will form part of The Wetlands, an outdoor recreation complex positioned beyond the main lobby.
Disney plans several family-focused areas there. These include Lakeshore Lagoon, a zero-entry feature pool with a spiral waterslide, alongside children’s wet and dry play areas.

Guests will also find a separate leisure pool and whirlpool area. Disney says some outdoor areas will provide views towards Magic Kingdom fireworks.
The concept places outdoor recreation at the centre of the resort rather than treating it as a secondary amenity. That positioning could make the property particularly relevant for families building rest days into longer Walt Disney World holidays.
Dining and Bay Lake Views Will Expand the Resort Experience
Disney also plans several food and drink venues across the property.
Moonglade will provide table-service dining beside Bay Lake. Bay Lake Provisions will operate as an all-day quick-service marketplace, while Paint Out Point Bar & Grill will serve guests near the recreation areas.
Another venue, Dandelion Terrace, will offer views across Bay Lake towards Magic Kingdom fireworks.
Inside the resort, Branch & Brush will serve as a lounge overlooking the lake. Its interiors will reflect the changing seasons through natural textures, artwork and lighting.

When Can Travellers Book Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge
Travellers interested in opening-season stays should pay close attention to the booking timetable.
Disney has announced three reservation stages:
- 6 October 2026: Disney Vacation Club Members receive early rental reservation access.
- 7 October 2026: Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can begin booking.
- 8 October 2026: Reservations open to all guests.
Disney lists 1 July 2027 as the resort’s official opening date.
Travellers should confirm current room availability, rates, cancellation conditions and package rules directly through Walt Disney World before paying for flights or other non-refundable travel arrangements.
What Travellers Should Know Before Booking
The biggest asset to planning is probably a location of a resort.
Disney states that visitors will now be just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom Park. Guests of the Resort will still have access to Walt Disney World transportation and select benefits.

Families should look for the best room type. Studios are ideal for couples but families may find it worth paying a little more for villas with kitchens, laundry and separate living areas.
Take into account the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort. Pools, Daydream River, waterfront property and restaurants make Lakeshore Lodge a good choice for travelers who prefer a hotel stay when spending days at a theme park.
But the New York reveal was just a tease to entice visitors. The real story starts in July 2027 at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge in Florida, which goes up around Bay Lake and joins the list of Walt Disney World’s places to stay. For more information about Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, visit:
