Nicaragua recorded its strongest visitor performance in this comparison period in 2023, when total arrivals reached 1,202,309. In 2024, arrivals decreased to 1,085,539 before reaching 1,079,135 in 2025.
The 2025 performance represents a slight decline compared with 2024, but the country continued attracting more than one million visitors for the third consecutive year. According to official tourism data, non-resident visitor arrivals declined by 0.6 percent in 2025, while tourism revenue increased due to higher visitor spending levels.
Overnight tourists remained the largest segment of Nicaragua’s tourism market. In 2025, tourists staying at least one night accounted for 946,979 arrivals, while same-day visitors reached 132,156. This shows that Nicaragua continues attracting travellers who stay longer and explore multiple destinations across the country.
While visitor arrivals changed between 2022 and 2025, Nicaragua continued expanding its tourism accommodation capacity. The number of hotels and similar establishments increased every year, rising from 1,000 in 2022 to 1,125 in 2025.
Hotel room availability also recorded continuous growth. The country increased its accommodation capacity from 12,785 rooms in 2022 to 14,229 rooms in 2025.

Official figures from the Central Bank of Nicaragua show that tourism generated an added value of C$39,245.7 million in 2025, representing an 11.6 percent increase compared with 2024. Tourism contributed 5.4 percent of the country’s total economic added value.
Tourism production reached C$79,550.5 million in 2025, increasing by 11.8 percent compared with the previous year. Total tourism consumption inside Nicaragua reached C$85,305.6 million, also growing by 11.8 percent.
Domestic tourism played an important role in this growth. Resident tourism consumption reached C$66,004.7 million, increasing by 14.6 percent compared with 2024. International visitor tourism consumption reached C$19,300.9 million, representing a 3.2 percent annual increase.
