Bintan Resorts Teams Up With Air India and Vanilla Hospitality to Showcase Indonesia’s New MICE Opportunities for Indian Corporates
Bintan Resorts, in collaboration with Vanilla Hospitality and airline partner Air India, hosted a corporate familiarisation visit to Bintan, Indonesia, between 2 and 6 September 2026. The initiative brought together senior delegates from prominent organisations representing diverse industries, including pharmaceuticals, life sciences, energy, manufacturing, consumer products, aviation, hospitality, travel services and event management. Vanilla Hospitality and Air India supported the participation of these industry leaders, providing an opportunity to experience Bintan’s corporate travel and business event offerings.
The initiative aimed to familiarise the delegation with Bintan’s capabilities as a destination for business events, conferences, corporate meetings, incentive programmes, team-building activities and executive retreats. During the visit, participants gained insights into the island’s accommodation offerings, dedicated event venues, culinary experiences and a wide range of activities designed for group travellers.
Situated in Indonesia’s Riau Archipelago, Bintan Resorts offers convenient ferry connectivity from Singapore, enabling corporate travellers from India to pair seamless international access with a tropical island environment. The programme highlighted how business meetings and professional engagements can be enhanced through curated experiences, including team activities, wellness sessions, outdoor adventures, cultural exploration and beachfront leisure opportunities.
Commenting on the evolving corporate-events landscape, Mr. Abdul Wahab, Chief Operating Officer,
Bintan Resorts, said, “Corporate events are becoming increasingly experience-led, with Indian
companies looking beyond conventional venues to offer employees and leadership teams something
distinctive and memorable. Bintan Resorts has the capacity and flexibility to cater to this demand across
different group sizes and programme formats. Its accessibility through Singapore, combined with its
meeting infrastructure and diverse experiences, makes it a strong choice for Indian corporates seeking
both purpose and impact from their events.”

The visit was organised under Vanilla Engage, a programme developed by Vanilla Hospitality to bring together corporate planners, industry professionals and destination partners through immersive, on-ground experiences. The initiative allowed attendees to gain practical insights into Bintan’s capabilities as a corporate events destination, assess its suitability for business gatherings, and explore how its resorts, facilities and experiences could be integrated into upcoming corporate travel programmes.
Mr. Farhat Samuel Roberts, Head of Sales & Strategic Partnerships, Vanilla Hospitality, said,
“Destination decisions are far more informed when corporate planners can experience the product
themselves. Through Vanilla Engage, our aim was to move beyond a conventional presentation and
allow participants to understand how Bintan could work for their own teams and business requirements.
Bringing decision-makers directly to the destination creates more meaningful conversations and helps
translate interest into practical programme possibilities.”
The familiarisation visit showcased the potential for strengthening Bintan Resorts’ presence in India’s growing outbound MICE and corporate travel segment. It further demonstrated the importance of strategic partnerships among the destination, hospitality providers and aviation partners to create greater awareness among Indian business planners and unlock new opportunities for international meetings, incentives and events.
