The Rajasthan government plans to focus on facilitating tourism in the lesser-known destinations of the state like the villages that are rich with historical and cultural treasures. In order to do this, the state government has devised a plan to serve two purposes—bringing up more destinations for the tourists and boosting employment opportunities in rural areas.
Reportedly, the Panchayati Raj secretary Kunjilal Meena has issued a circular on behalf of the department asking the CEOs of Zila Parishad to name heritage structures and monuments situated in the villages of Rajasthan, and put up the list on the notice board by all the highways and national highways linked to the state. This plan of action is meant to attract the attention of the tourists passing through the highways and tempt them to explore the destinations.
In order to fulfil this objective in a foolproof way, instructions have been given to make the notice boards attractive, along with giving detailed information about the place. The department has also asked the concerned authorities to put a picture of the places on the notice boards.
The home state of India’s royalty, Rajasthan, is a huge tourist draw for its old heritage structures, palaces and other sites. Tourists from different parts of India and the world land in Rajasthan in huge numbers to explore its various towns, villages and cities. Quite naturally, tourism is one of the best sources of income for Rajasthan and it also helps the state generate employment.
The latest initiative is supposed to further lure tourists to the state.
