Royal Jordanian Airlines is set to broaden its horizon in the United Kingdom by introducing two new routes from Manchester and Stansted Airport, marking a significant expansion of its services and connecting more British travellers directly to the heart of the Middle East, Amman, Jordan.

This initiative not only brings new travel options for United Kingdom residents but also underscores Royal Jordanian Airlines’ commitment to promoting tourism to Jordan and enhancing Amman’s status as a pivotal gateway to the Levant region.

Starting March 3, London Stansted will witness the commencement of four weekly flights to Amman, followed by the launch of three weekly flights from Manchester Airport beginning March 6. These new services complement the airline’s existing flights from London Heathrow to Amman, introducing direct flights from these two airports for the first time.

Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Jordanian Airlines, highlighted the strategic importance of these new routes in the airline’s corporate strategy, emphasizing the goal of driving tourism to Jordan and enhancing connectivity across their network.

The expansion plans don’t stop at new routes; Royal Jordanian Airlines envisions a significant growth in its fleet, aiming to increase from 24 to 40 aircraft within the next five years. This ambitious growth strategy is set to further solidify the airline’s footprint in the aviation industry and enhance its service offerings to passengers.

The announcement has been warmly received by the management of Manchester and Stansted Airports. Chris Woodroofe, Manchester Airport’s Managing Director, and Gareth Powell, Stansted Airport’s Managing Director, both expressed enthusiasm about the potential of these new routes to connect their respective regions with Jordan, a country rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty.

Jordan, with its capital Amman, serves as the gateway to iconic destinations such as Petra and Wadi Rum. Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage site known as the Rose City for its pink sandstone cliffs, and Wadi Rum, the majestic red sand desert known as the Valley of the Moon, are just a couple of the attractions that await UK travellers.

In addition to Royal Jordanian Airlines’ expansion, the aviation industry sees further growth with Lufthansa City Airlines launching new routes from Birmingham and Manchester to Munich this summer, and the anticipation of a new player, Global Airlines, set to launch its first flights this year. These developments signal a vibrant and competitive landscape in air travel, offering travelers more choices and opportunities to explore the world.
