In a huge rush of tourist activities in Croatia enabled the country to welcome 2.5 million tourists in
September 2023. This was a record of 13.5 million in terms of overnight stays in the country.

This marked a notable rise of 15 per cent in regard to tourist arrivals followed by four per cent increase in
overnight stays when compared to the same time last year, as the information collected by the eVisitor
registration system.

One of the prime causes of tourist increase in the country is the Schengen Zone membership of the country and its modification from the previous currency, the kuna, to the euro which improved the convenience of transaction for Eurozone visitors, Schengen Visa website reports.

The year before the world pandemic, i.e., 2019, there was a distinguished rise of nine per cent in
travellers and a five per cent in terms of overnight stays, as per a report on October 3.

Croatia welcomed 18.7 million travellers just in the initial nine months of 2023. This number helped in generating 102 million overnight stays.

It marked a notable rise of nine per cent in terms of visitor numbers and a two per cent increase in overnight stays compared to the same time year before, with statistics carefully reflecting the levels of the pre-pandemic times.
