Tierra Patagonia, the luxury wilderness lodge located near Chile’s iconic Torres del Paine National Park and part of the Beckons portfolio of immersive properties, has officially opened for its 2026 season with a refreshed collection of exclusive outdoor experiences designed for travellers seeking deeper connections with nature, culture and the dramatic landscapes of Patagonia.

The new season introduces a range of bespoke adventures, including a kayaking journey through the glacial waters of Río Grey, fly-fishing excursions across remote Patagonian rivers and lakes, and a helicopter exploration over some of the region’s most extraordinary landscapes. These new additions complement Tierra Patagonia’s established experiences, including guided trekking, e-bike adventures and dedicated wildlife encounters focused on spotting the elusive puma.

With its expanded activity programme, Tierra Patagonia continues to strengthen its reputation as a premier base for luxury experiential travel in Torres del Paine, offering guests opportunities to explore the region through carefully curated journeys shaped by the natural environment.

The 2026 opening follows a period of major international recognition for the lodge. Tierra Patagonia received Three MICHELIN Keys in 2025 and maintained the distinction in the 2026 selection. The property was also recognised as the second-best resort in Central and South America in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2025, highlighting its growing global appeal among luxury travellers.

Set against the spectacular backdrop of Patagonia, Tierra Patagonia features 40 guest suites overlooking the calm waters of Lake Sarmiento and the dramatic Paine Massif. The architecture and experiences at the lodge are designed around the surrounding wilderness, allowing guests to experience the changing landscapes, wildlife movements and natural rhythms of one of Chile’s most remarkable regions.

For the 2026 season, Tierra Patagonia has developed an experience programme that adapts to the conditions of the landscape. Each adventure is planned around seasonal changes, including wildlife activity, river conditions and mountain weather, ensuring every guest journey remains unique and connected to the environment.

One of the most notable additions this season is a new kayaking expedition along Río Grey. Developed in partnership with local experts from Kayak Sin Fronteras, the experience allows travellers to explore the waterways of Torres del Paine while surrounded by Patagonia’s dramatic scenery. Starting near the Southern Patagonian Icefield, guests paddle through glacial waters while passing native lenga forests, towering granite peaks of the Paine Massif and, depending on conditions, floating ice formations from Grey Glacier.

Beginning October 15, fly-fishing will become another highlight of Tierra Patagonia’s adventure collection. The experience takes guests to secluded rivers and lakes selected for their pristine surroundings and thriving fish populations. Travellers can encounter resident and sea-run brown trout throughout the season, while chinook salmon can be found in the waters between December and February. All fishing activities follow a catch-and-release approach to support long-term conservation of Patagonia’s aquatic ecosystems.

From October 18, guests will also have access to a new Rare & Remarkable helicopter adventure offering an aerial perspective of Torres del Paine and the Southern Patagonian Icefield. The exclusive journey provides access to remote locations that are rarely visited by travellers, flying above one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest ice formations outside Antarctica.

Covering approximately 13,000 square kilometres, the Southern Patagonian Icefield feeds more than 50 outlet glaciers, including the famous Grey Glacier, whose meltwater flows into the Río Grey. Each helicopter experience will be carefully planned according to daily weather and landscape conditions, creating a personalised journey where no two flights are identical.

Alongside these new offerings, Tierra Patagonia’s signature experiences remain central to its seasonal programme. Guests can continue exploring Torres del Paine through guided hikes, including the challenging trek to the Base of the Towers and the scenic route through French Valley. For travellers seeking active exploration across Patagonia’s open landscapes, e-bike journeys of up to 40 kilometres provide another way to discover the region’s vast steppe.

Wildlife experiences also remain a key attraction, particularly the lodge’s specialised puma excursions. Led by expert guides, the dedicated wildlife journeys follow puma activity across the protected lands of Leona Amarga Estancia, offering guests a rare opportunity to observe one of Patagonia’s most iconic predators in its natural habitat.

Tierra Patagonia General Manager Esteban Bagnis said the 2026 season reflects the lodge’s continued focus on creating meaningful experiences that allow guests to connect with the landscapes, wildlife and natural heritage of Chilean Patagonia.

Through its combination of luxury accommodation, expert-led adventures and conservation-focused experiences, Tierra Patagonia continues to position itself as a gateway for travellers looking to discover Patagonia beyond traditional sightseeing and experience the region through authentic encounters with its wild environment.

“Tierra Patagonia has always been about putting guests as close as possible to the raw, untamed beauty of this region,” Mr Bagnis said. “The addition of kayaking, fly fishing and our new heli adventure gives guests entirely new ways to experience Torres del Paine, guided by people who read this land like a language. It’s a season built for those who want to fall into the rhythm of Patagonia, whichever way they choose to explore it.”

“Every excursion here is shaped by our guides’ deep knowledge of this land, whether it’s tracking pumas across the Sierra Baguales or reading the conditions before a flight over the icefield,” Mr Bagnis said. “This season, we’re offering a wider range of ways for guests to connect with Patagonia, but the heart of it stays the same: wild places, shared by people who know them intimately.”

Guests can now create a remarkable Chilean journey by combining their stay at Tierra Atacama with an unforgettable adventure that stretches from the rugged landscapes of Patagonia in the south to the dramatic beauty of the Atacama Desert in the north. The experience brings together Chile’s most extraordinary natural wonders, including vast salt flats, geothermal geysers, high-altitude lagoons and some of the world’s most spectacular stargazing conditions. Tierra Atacama has further strengthened its luxury reputation after receiving Two MICHELIN Keys and earning recognition among Robb Report’s 50 Greatest Luxury Hotels on Earth and AFAR’s Best New Hotels of 2026.
