Kolkata Along With Bengaluru And More Gets Singapore Travel Boost From 15 October as Air India and Singapore Airlines Expand Booking Across 126 Weekly Flights

Kolkata, Bengaluru and more Indian cities will be able to enjoy greater access to Singapore from 15 October as Air India and Singapore Airlines extend bookings. The enhanced partnership includes 126 weekly flights between Singapore and Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai, providing more flexibility for passengers to take advantage of eligible services with either airline’s booking channels while improving convenience and connectivity between India and Singapore.
From 15 October 2026, the two carriers will strengthen their cooperation across services connecting Singapore with eight major Indian cities — Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai. Together, the airlines operate 126 weekly flights across these India-Singapore routes, giving passengers a substantial range of travel options between the two markets.

A significant change will be introduced to the airlines’ existing codeshare booking arrangements. At present, passengers booking an eligible Air India-operated codeshare service through Singapore Airlines must also include a Singapore Airlines-operated flight in the same itinerary. The equivalent requirement applies when eligible Singapore Airlines-operated codeshare flights are booked through Air India.
That restriction will be removed from 15 October 2026. Eligible flights between India and Singapore operated by either carrier will then be available for standalone booking through the other airline’s website, mobile application and appointed travel agencies.

The change is designed to broaden customer choice while simplifying the booking process. Travellers will be able to access more flight combinations through either carrier’s sales channels, providing greater flexibility when selecting schedules and planning journeys between India and Singapore.
The two airlines have already expanded cooperation within their respective loyalty programmes. In April 2026, Air India and Singapore Airlines enhanced reciprocal mileage accrual arrangements by increasing the number of eligible booking classes and revising mileage earning rates across cabin categories.

As a result, members of Air India’s Maharaja Club and Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer programme can earn miles across a broader selection of eligible services operated by either carrier.
The partnership will expand further from the second quarter of 2027, when eligible Maharaja Club and KrisFlyer members are scheduled to receive additional reciprocal privileges alongside their existing Star Alliance benefits.
Under the planned enhancements, Maharaja Club Platinum and KrisFlyer PPS Club members will receive priority check-in and boarding benefits, placing them alongside other top-tier customers of the respective airlines.
Maharaja Club Silver and KrisFlyer Elite Silver members are also set to gain additional recognition. Eligible passengers in these tiers will receive extra baggage allowances and priority boarding benefits on applicable routes, helping create a more consistent travel experience when moving between the two carriers.
Air India and Singapore Airlines are meanwhile developing further initiatives aimed at strengthening the overall passenger journey. Their areas of focus include better schedule coordination to reduce connection times and lengthy layovers, improved propositions for corporate travellers and additional measures intended to make journeys across their combined networks more streamlined.
The first phase therefore represents a broader development of the Air India-Singapore Airlines relationship, moving beyond traditional codeshare cooperation towards closer integration of booking channels, loyalty programmes, schedules and customer benefits across the important India-Singapore travel market.
