The Ski Lodge Verbier in December 2026 and the 36 room boutique property will provide another mountain retreat in the Swiss Alps. The privately owned hotel will integrate accommodation, wellness, bar and restaurant, and nightlife in the heart of Verbier for those seeking more than just ski time.

Settling the property in Verbier for December will coincide with the main winter travel period in the market. According to Switzerland Tourism, it considers Verbier in the Valais region of Switzerland as a premier winter sports destination, and the gateway to the vast 4 Valles ski area.

  • 18 Cosy rooms
  • 12 Deluxe rooms
  • Four Mountain Suites
  • Two Mountain Suite Terraces

Several rooms will feature an additional bunk nook above the king-size bed. This design will give some groups and families greater flexibility without moving away from the boutique-hotel concept.

South-facing suites will offer mountain views towards Grand Combin and Mont-Rogneux.

The property also plans an unusual feature for a modern hotel: guestrooms will have no televisions. The concept aims to encourage guests to switch off from everyday routines and spend more time enjoying the Alpine setting.

Spa and Wellness Become a Major Part of the Stay

The hotel will focus strongly on what one can do off the mountain.

Spa & Wellness The hotel will feature a thermal and treatment spa with an indoor swimming pool, cold plunge, Japanese Onsen-type Jacuzzi, Sauna and Hammam. The wellness offering will be complemented by three treatment rooms and a fitness suite.

The hotel also intends to make its spa available to other visitors to Verbier by selling day passes to non-residents.

This strategy aligns with Verbier’s wider offering outside of skiing. According to Switzerland Tourism, wellness, gastronomy, shopping and outdoor activities are all major components of a trip to the resort.

Restaurant and Late-Night Bar Expand the Experience

Food and nightlife will form another central part of The Ski Lodge concept.

The hotel plans to open The Peak, a restaurant influenced by ingredients and culinary techniques associated with the Americas. This will give guests an on-site dining option after skiing, snowboarding or exploring the resort.

A separate venue called The Listening Room will serve as the hotel bar.

It will welcome hotel guests, local residents and other visitors from early evening until late. Plans include cocktails, wines, aperitivo-style food and DJs on selected weekends.

This social element could prove important in Verbier, where the visitor economy extends well beyond the pistes. Official Verbier Tourism information lists 114 restaurants and bars across the destination.

Alpine Design Draws on Valais Traditions

The interiors will draw inspiration from the traditional mayens of the Valais region.

Plans incorporate aged larch, stone and other natural materials to create a contemporary interpretation of Alpine architecture rather than a conventional large ski resort.

The development also includes renewable district heating, photovoltaic panels, underfloor heating and engineered ventilation systems.

The property states that it holds Minergie certification and is working towards participation in Switzerland’s Swisstainable tourism programme.

Travellers should note that Swisstainable itself is not an independent sustainability certification. Switzerland Tourism describes it as a national tourism sustainability programme with three participation levels and defined requirements.

What Travellers Should Know Before Booking

The hotel plans to operate seasonally. Its winter season will run from December until the end of April, followed by a closure before reopening from early June until the end of September.

Bookings reportedly opened on 28 September 2026, ahead of the first planned December stays.

Travellers should confirm the precise opening date, room availability, spa access, restaurant schedules and ski-season services directly before making non-refundable arrangements.

Public transport is a convenient alternative for international visitors.

The journey from Geneva will take around two hours 40 minutes via public transport. As above, services from Zurich travel you there in about four hours. The winter weekend and public-holiday services listed above are direct train services from Geneva Airport to Le Chble.

For ski tourists, this means the new hotel will establish itself in a destination with comprehensive mountain infrastructure, public transport and year-round tourism.

The Ski Lodge will offer 36 bedrooms, a large spa, restaurant, late night bar and all set in the heart of Verbier. Rather than be an accommodation-only offering, The Ski Lodge aims to be all about the full Alpine experience. Once open in December 2026 it’s a new boutique choice for winter guests to indulge in skiing, relaxation, eating and mountain luxury in the Swiss Alps.
