The Aki no Norihodai Pass is designed for travellers who want to discover Japan through its extensive local railway network. The pass provides unlimited rides for three full days on JR regular trains and rapid (kaisoku) services throughout Japan, with no regional restrictions.

Visitors can use the pass to create flexible itineraries, combining different regions and exploring destinations that may otherwise require multiple individual tickets.

The pass also includes unlimited rides on JR-managed BRT highway bus services, adding another transport option for reaching areas not directly connected by railway lines.

However, the pass does not cover all JR services. Travellers cannot use it on Shinkansen bullet trains, express trains or special express services. Instead, it focuses on regular and rapid railway connections, encouraging visitors to experience Japan’s local transport network.
