Set to take place from March 5 to 7 on the Berlin exhibition grounds, this premier event is poised to become the epicenter for the travel industry’s most crucial discussions.

Under the guiding motto “Pioneer the Transition in Travel & Tourism. Together”, the ITB Berlin 2024 convention will feature 400 top speakers from renowned companies like Booking, Google, Microsoft, and Airbnb, who will share insights across more than 200 sessions. This B2B travel event gathering is a pivotal moment for stakeholders to explore innovative strategies and adapt to the evolving landscape of travel and tourism.

Navigating New Frontiers

The ITB Berlin Convention 2024 is designed as a comprehensive think tank for the travel industry, tackling subjects such as the skilled labor shortage, climate justice, and the burgeoning role of artificial intelligence (AI). With participation included in the trade visitor, exhibitor, and press tickets, attendees are invited to engage in a dynamic exchange of ideas across four live stages and 17 themed tracks.

This year’s edition will delve into the challenges of digitalization and AI, reflecting on their growing influence in the travel sector. The Carrier & Cruise Track, for instance, will focus on the airline and cruise industries, examining market trends, technological advancements, and legal frameworks. Esteemed speakers like Nadia Azale of AirFrance-KLM and Michele Francioni of MSC Cruises will spotlight key industry developments and best practices.

Leadership and Innovation

Prominent figures such as Glenn Fogel, CEO of Booking Holdings, will discuss the future of travel, emphasizing leadership and innovation. Karim Bagga from Microsoft and Stefan Ebener from Google will explore the transformative potential of GenAI in travel and the digital world. Airbnb’s Dave Stephenson will reveal strategies for unlocking growth, offering firsthand insights into the company’s direction.

Commitment to Sustainability

The Responsible Tourism Track on March 7 will highlight the sector’s role in biodiversity and climate justice, featuring practical examples of sustainable solutions. Influential voices like Bruno Oberle and Ingo Burmester will present initiatives aimed at achieving climate justice and pioneering a transition towards net-zero emissions.

Global Collaboration and Insights

The convention’s sponsors, including the World Tourism Cities Federation and Berlin Brandenburg Airport, play a crucial role in supporting various tracks, underscoring the collaborative effort to drive the industry forward. Additionally, ITB Berlin’s year-round offerings, such as newsroom articles and podcasts, provide the tourism community with continuous insights and updates.

As the ITB Berlin Convention 2024 approaches, it’s clear that the event is not just a meeting point but a launchpad for shaping the future of travel and tourism. Through collaborative discussions, innovative solutions, and shared commitments, the convention is set to pioneer the transition towards a more sustainable, inclusive, and technologically advanced travel industry.
