Ireland has hit the one-year-countdown marker for the arrival of the next Ryder Cup with the world’s best golfers and fans. The country will welcome them all thanks to the Adare Manor course. This is one of the largest sporting events to ever happen on the island. The Ryder Cup attracts a lot of travelers, so Ireland’s golf tourism industry will benefit from this worldwide attention. With some of the most prestigious golf tournaments and golf courses in the world, Ireland will attract even more tourism than it already does.

Tourism Ireland is using the milestone to reinforce Ireland’s position as one of the world’s premier golf destinations, highlighting the country’s renowned courses, dramatic landscapes and rich golfing heritage.

Following the successful hosting of The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in 2025, Ireland remains firmly in the global golfing spotlight as it prepares for a remarkable series of major tournaments leading into Ryder Cup year.

The momentum continues after the KPMG Women’s Irish Open took place from 27–30 August at The K Club’s Palmer South Course in County Kildare, featuring many of the world’s leading female golfers.

Attention now turns to County Clare, where Lahinch Golf Club will host the 51st Walker Cup from 5–6 September. The prestigious amateur team competition will be staged at the iconic coastal course for the first time, adding another historic chapter to Ireland’s golf calendar.

Just days later, the Amgen Irish Open will be held from 10–13 September at Trump International Golf Links Doonbeg, bringing international golf stars to Ireland’s breathtaking Wild Atlantic Way.

Together, these events will provide a major showcase of Ireland’s golfing excellence and build excitement ahead of the Ryder Cup, further strengthening the island’s reputation as a must-visit destination for golf travellers worldwide.
