Through the Run for Hope initiative, funds have been directed towards research areas including oncology, genetic studies, leukaemia research and brain cancer advancements.
The 2026 Run for Hope weekend has been designed as a comprehensive hospitality and community event featuring several activities for participants of different ages and interests.
The programme will begin with the Taste of Hawai‘i Island culinary event on Friday, 11 September, at 6:00 pm at Hoku Amphitheater. The evening will feature culinary creations from chefs across Hawai‘i Island, along with drinks, music and a silent auction.
The auction will include unique holiday packages and locally inspired island gifts. Advance tickets have been set at USD 135 for adults, USD 55 for children aged five to 12, while children aged four and under will receive complimentary entry.
The culinary gathering will provide the opening experience for guests choosing to Travel to Hawaii while participating in a purpose-driven resort event.
The main Run for Hope activities will take place on Saturday, 12 September, beginning at 7:00 am. Participants will be able to join the keiki dash, 10K run and 5K run/walk routes across the scenic landscape of Hualālai.
Registration will begin at 6:30 am, followed by a warm-up session at 6:45 am. Advance participation has been priced at USD 50 and includes a commemorative T-shirt.
Following the run and walk events, participants and visitors will gather at Hoku Amphitheater for refreshments, raffle prizes and an awards ceremony. Spectators will also have the option to enjoy breakfast for USD 30 while supporting the event.
The sporting programme will continue throughout the afternoon with additional activities hosted at the resort.
The annual shotgun golf tournament will take place at Hualālai Golf Course at 1:00 pm on Saturday. Participation has been priced at USD 325 per person or USD 1,100 for a four-person team.
The registration process will begin at 12:30 pm, and refreshments and raffle prizes will be included after the tournament.
At 2:00 pm, tennis and pickleball players will be welcomed for a round-robin tournament at the Hualālai Tennis Pavilion. Registration will open at 1:30 pm, with participation available for USD 90 per person, including refreshments and raffle opportunities.
These activities have expanded the Run for Hope programme beyond traditional fundraising, creating a complete resort-based experience for guests, families and community members.
