The tourism sector in The Bahamas has witnessed unprecedented levels of visitor movements within the first five months of 2026, with a total of 6.1 million visitors coming from overseas markets, according to the figures provided by the Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation as well as the Central Bank of The Bahamas. This is an impressive 14.2% rise compared to the same period last year and means that The Bahamas is on track to surpass its past record visitor number of 12.5 million. This trend is partly due to a steady rise in cruise visits and overnight tourism visits. In addition, the numerous islands within The Bahamas mean that tourism is not limited to only Nassau and other major entry points but extends to various destinations around the Family Islands.

Nassau Remains the Main Tourism Gateway
