British Airways has revealed the redesigned cabins that will feature across its refurbished Airbus A380 fleet, reaching a significant stage in the airline’s extensive aircraft upgrade programme.

The transformation will cover the aircraft from front to back. Travellers can expect refreshed interiors, newly designed seating across every cabin and improvements to the wider onboard experience. The upgrades are focused on delivering greater comfort and creating a more refined journey for passengers while flying at 35,000 feet.

The first fully refurbished A380 is scheduled to return to passenger operations in the coming months. Its introduction will begin a broader transformation of the airline’s A380 fleet and forms part of a wider investment programme aimed at improving the overall customer experience.

Sean Doyle, Chairman and CEO at British Airways, said: “This is a major milestone for British Airways and the future of our A380 fleet, marking one of the most significant transformations we’ve ever undertaken on any aircraft.

‘We’ve completely reimagined the customer experience, introducing new and updated seats in every cabin, all carefully considered to deliver greater comfort and an elevated customer experience.

‘At the heart of the transformation is our brand-new First suite, but this investment goes far beyond a single cabin. From redesigned interiors and upgraded dining to new amenities and service delivery, every detail has been thoughtfully designed with our customers front and centre, helping them to have a more seamless and memorable experience when they fly with us.”

Travellers flying in Club World business class, World Traveller Plus premium economy and World Traveller economy will experience newly designed seating and refreshed cabin interiors. The updated spaces put passenger comfort at the centre, while a distinctive herringbone-inspired design helps create a consistent visual style across the different cabins.

The transformation extends beyond passenger seats. Galleys, staircases and other onboard areas have also been redesigned, giving the aircraft a more modern and cohesive appearance from one space to the next.

Careful attention has been given to everything from seat finishes and materials to the appearance of the galley areas. Together, these changes establish a stronger and more recognisable cabin identity. The design builds on the concept introduced across the airline’s short-haul fleet in 2024 and carries that approach into the next generation of its long-haul aircraft interiors.

Every detail of the refreshed cabin has been carefully considered to create a more comfortable and polished journey. From seat materials and finishes to smaller design elements, the updated interiors aim to give passengers a modern and welcoming environment throughout their flight.

The improvements also extend beyond the seating areas. Galleys and other functional spaces have received new finishes and design treatments, helping the entire aircraft maintain a consistent appearance. This creates a smoother visual connection between different parts of the cabin.

A clearer design identity now runs throughout the aircraft. Rather than treating individual spaces separately, the new approach brings seating, materials, fixtures and onboard areas together under one distinctive style. This gives the long-haul cabin a more unified and recognisable character.

The wider design direction builds on the cabin concept first introduced across the airline’s short-haul fleet in 2024. That visual approach is now being carried into long-haul aircraft, helping shape a new generation of cabin interiors with greater consistency, comfort and attention to detail.
