SriLankan Airlines has confirmed that flight UL 605, originally scheduled from Melbourne to Colombo, experienced a safe return to Melbourne Airport shortly after departure at 18:16hrs (Melbourne time) today. This decision was prompted by the detection of a technical issue on board the aircraft.
Upon landing, all passengers were efficiently disembarked, ensuring their safety and well-being. Despite the inconvenience caused by the unexpected turn of events, the airline promptly initiated measures to address the situation.
A dedicated team of engineers is currently engaged in assessing the aircraft and providing necessary technical support to rectify the identified issue. This proactive approach underscores SriLankan Airlines’ commitment to passenger safety and operational integrity.
In the meantime, arrangements have been made to accommodate all affected passengers in hotels until the rescheduled departure of the flight can be arranged, ensuring minimal disruption to their travel plans.
