Atlas Celebrates Second MICHELIN Star Win, Setting a New Standard in Atlanta Fine Dining

Wednesday, October 30, 2024

Atlas, Buckhead’s premier fine dining destination, has once again secured its esteemed MICHELIN Star in the 2024 Atlanta MICHELIN Guide. Announced at a ceremony last night at the Georgia World Congress Center, this recognition reaffirms Atlas’s standing as a leader in culinary excellence and innovation. Initially awarded a one-star rating in last year’s inaugural Atlanta edition, Atlas continues to shine among the city’s top dining experiences.

“This year’s recognition further fuels our commitment to pursuing the high standards of excellence we all believe in,” said Greg Walker, Managing Director of Tavistock Restaurant Collection. “We are incredibly proud of Chef Freddy Money and the entire team for their unwavering dedication, consistency and exceptional skills that are required to not just earn a MICHELIN star, but to maintain it — truly a momentous accomplishment.”

Nestled within The St. Regis Atlanta, Atlas stands as a fine dining jewel where Chef Freddy and his team craft seasonal tasting menus that are both artistic and daring. Inspired by European culinary traditions, Chef Freddy draws on fresh, in-season ingredients sourced from local Atlanta farms, transforming each dish into a harmonious blend of taste and visual elegance. From inventive vegetarian options to diverse vegan selections, the tasting menus explore the beauty of textures, flavors, and the origins of each ingredient, offering a sensory journey through each season.

Beyond his exquisite seasonal menus, Chef Freddy elevates Atlanta’s dining landscape through exclusive Four Hands collaborations with celebrated chefs worldwide. These unique events bring together international flavors and advanced techniques, creating a captivating fusion that goes beyond the usual dining experience. Each collaboration showcases the synergy between Chef Freddy and his guest chefs, resulting in dishes that resonate with creativity and depth. These events are highly anticipated, not just for the food but also for the community spirit they foster, bringing Atlanta’s vibrant food culture to life in a fresh, unforgettable way.

Atlas’s commitment to art is mirrored in its 101-seat dining room and intimate Tavern, adorned with a remarkable collection of artwork, including masterpieces by icons like Picasso, Freud, Bacon, Soutine, van Gogh, and Chagall. A rotating installation keeps the art experience dynamic, immersing diners in both classic and contemporary visual pieces. The open kitchen adds to the atmosphere, where Chef Freddy and Chef de Cuisine Adam Hercik lead their team in a seamless, artful culinary performance. General Manager Drew Romanos and Director of Hospitality & Service Julien Gobin further enhance this sophisticated experience, offering elegant, attentive service that reflects the ethos of Atlas.

Every visit to Atlas is a chance to embark on a new culinary adventure, celebrating fine food, art, and the spirit of innovation within Atlanta’s dining scene.
