Unlike existing daytime Vande Bharat trains, the sleeper version will allow passengers to complete long-distance journeys while resting overnight and arriving at their destination early in the morning.

As per the planned schedule, the train will depart from Varanasi Cantt at around 9:20 pm. It is expected to reach Prayagraj at approximately 10:45 pm and continue towards Kanpur Central, with arrival scheduled around 12:35 am. The train will then proceed towards New Delhi and is planned to reach the capital at around 5 am.

The return journey will follow a similar overnight pattern. The train is expected to leave New Delhi at approximately 9:20 pm and arrive in Varanasi at around 5 am the next morning.

This timing structure is expected to benefit travellers who want to maximise their daytime hours while avoiding long daytime journeys. Business travellers, tourists, students and families travelling between the two regions could benefit from improved scheduling and enhanced comfort.

Modern Coaches And Premium Facilities Planned For New Sleeper Service

The proposed sleeper Vande Bharat will feature a 16-coach configuration with different categories of AC accommodation. The planned train composition includes 11 AC three-tier coaches, four AC two-tier coaches and one first AC coach.

With a total passenger capacity of around 823 travellers, the train will provide a premium overnight experience with better facilities compared with traditional long-distance trains operating on the route.
