“We are thrilled to welcome Chef Sutti to Grand Hyatt Kauai,” said Michael Murphy, general
manager of Grand Hyatt Kauai. “His global culinary perspective combined with his talent for
showcasing a destination through innovative cuisine, creates a powerful opportunity to further
elevate our food and beverage program. Chef Sutti has a distinct ability to translate world-class
technique into menus that feel deeply connected to place, and we’re excited for our guests to
experience that in every dish.”
Originally from Udon Thani in northeastern Thailand, Sripolpa developed a deep passion for cooking during his childhood while growing up around his family’s restaurant. The constant presence of a busy kitchen, filled with strong aromas, fresh ingredients, and traditional Thai flavours, naturally drew him towards the culinary world. This environment gave him an early understanding of food preparation and the importance of hospitality in everyday life. Over time, this exposure became the foundation of his professional ambitions in the culinary field.

Immersed in this vibrant culinary setting, he gradually built a strong emotional and cultural connection to food. The discipline, teamwork, and creativity he observed in the kitchen shaped his outlook on cooking as both an art and a profession. These formative years instilled in him a respect for traditional techniques while also encouraging curiosity about international cuisines and modern culinary practices.
He eventually began his professional journey as a line cook in the hotel industry, marking his formal entry into the hospitality sector. This initial role allowed him to refine his technical skills, adapt to high-pressure environments, and understand the standards required in large-scale hotel kitchens. His commitment and consistency helped him progress steadily in his career.

Over the years, Sripolpa advanced his expertise across several renowned hospitality properties in the United States, including Grand Hyatt DFW, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa, and Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, among others. Each position contributed to his growth as a culinary professional, strengthening his leadership abilities and broadening his experience in diverse kitchen operations.
In his most recent role, Sripolpa worked as Executive Chef at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, a large resort with 1,800 rooms and over 200,000 square feet of event space. He was responsible for overseeing complete culinary and stewarding operations across 20 food and beverage outlets, which included two kosher dining venues, a convention centre, and a high-volume staff dining operation. Managing a team of more than 300 staff members, he focused on operational efficiency, strict food safety standards, and full regulatory compliance while also creating innovative menus for restaurants and large-scale events. He additionally coordinated collaborations with celebrated chefs, managing signature dining concepts developed by Marcus Samuelsson and Scott Conant.
“I am honored to join the incredible team at Grand Hyatt Kauai and to become a part of the
vibrant community that makes the Garden Island so special,” said Sripolpa. “There is something
very meaningful about working with ingredients that are grown, harvested, and sourced locally.
From fresh caught seafood to lettuce grown in the resort’s on-site hydroponic garden, I look
forward to connecting our guests with the flavors of the island through every dish we create.”
Sripolpa pursued formal culinary education at Mesa College in San Diego, where he developed a strong grounding in professional kitchen operations. During his training, he gained hands-on exposure to modern culinary techniques, food preparation standards, and essential hospitality practices that shaped the early stage of his career.
After completing his studies, he progressed into the hospitality industry with Hyatt properties, where he steadily advanced through roles requiring both technical skill and team coordination. His work reflected a strong commitment to maintaining high culinary standards and ensuring smooth kitchen operations across different service environments.
Over time, Sripolpa became known for his leadership capabilities, successfully managing and guiding diverse culinary teams within the organisation. His approach focused on improving efficiency, maintaining consistency in food quality, and fostering a disciplined yet collaborative kitchen culture.
His contributions have been widely recognised within Hyatt, as he played a key role in leading three separate culinary departments to achieve the company’s “Culinary Department of the Year” award. This accomplishment highlights his ability to drive performance excellence and sustain high standards across multiple teams.
