Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. voiced strong confidence on Monday, November 11, that the Philippines is poised to excel in the global cruise tourism industry.

Marcos highlighted that Manila’s strategy centers on streamlining operations, boosting efficiency, and emphasizing sustainable practices to foster growth in the cruise industry that is both practical and inclusive.

Seatrade Cruise Asia stands out as an essential gathering for the global cruise industry, renowned as the premier event spotlighting Asia’s immense potential both as a cruise destination and a dynamic market. This event aims to unite key players in the cruise sector, fostering opportunities to connect, collaborate, and expand business within the region.

Seatrade Cruise Asia emphasizes creating valuable connections among local and international leaders and businesses, encouraging networking, knowledge exchange, and discussions on future growth opportunities.

According to the Department of Transportation, the Philippines welcomed 125 cruise calls across more than 30 destinations in 2023. By November 4, 2024, the country anticipates a total of 109 cruise calls for the current year.

Additionally, the Philippines has confirmed 97 cruise calls scheduled for 2025, with another eight already arranged for 2026 and three for 2027.

The Department of Transportation reported that cruise ships visit 40 distinct destinations throughout Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
